BRZ? Really? Just imagine people asking "Hey what car is that?" lol

Good thing I could care less what it is called.

Well remember Subie plans on marketing the WRX as its own brand separate from the Impreza, so the "lettered" named cars seems like they will be the more performance oriented.

WRX - A lot of WRX owner calling their car Rex, but actual Subaru Rex don't even have boxer engine.
SVX - Suvix?
R1
R2 - Where's D2
XT
FF-1

Recent weird (imo) name is Dex

Again, name is minor thing to worry bout

zenith (n.)
1. the highest point reached by a celestial or other object
2. the point in the sky or celestial field directly above the observer
3. the time at which something is most powerful or successful

Perfect name, IMO. "Subaru" is the Japanese word for the Pleiades, a star cluster (see Subi logo) that holds significant meaning in dozens of cultures. Definition #1 and #3 portrays the power and success that the brand hopes to generate with RWD coupe entry that --according to Subaru-- will blow the competition away.
I wonder if it's going to be called Subaru BRZ _ _ _ _ _ _ or Subaru _ _ _ _ _ _ BRZ like Impreza WRX even though they planned to split the name into it's own model?!?

Subaru has also been been known for having funny nicknames; Subie, Scooby, Scoob, Rex, Slowbaru, Nabisco, Fubaru Pimpreza, Steez (STI) etc.

Subaru should bring back the B.R.A.T!!

Yeesh, what a bad name. Usually I'm indifferent or unamused with acronym names, but there's something about BRZ that strikes a chord of utter tasteless hatred. IF the Subie version of this car ends up being "the one" to buy, I can assure you that damn badge will be dental-flossed off before I sign the papers.

BROZ
BRAZ
BRAZZ

BRAZIERE

Why couldn't it have a real name, and not an ackronym that's painfully easy to make fun of. Even the fact that they claim it stands for Boxer/rear-drive/Zenith.....wait, Zenith!? Are you kidding? The Zenith of what, exactly, the development program? The Zenith of how much they tried to smoke up a name that didn't suck? It's full of face-palm. It seems that no matter what, this car is haunted by names and badges people will need to strip off to attempt to avoid the stupidity behind the brands and the model names.

BRZ sounds close to the CRZ. Lol. Is what I'm guessing that strikes you in the wrong way. I didn't really take that into account until someone had mentioned it awhile ago. Lol It's... in alphabetical order!! haha

People in brazil will be happy about this. There is a Subaru car named after their country.

Btw, isn't that the fast five just filmed in brazil? Hmmm. Is there any correlation???

Yep this is the Sports car architecture II so no actual styling just updated plexiglass shell and guts (gearbox, engine, suspension, diff, etc)...you know the important stuff.

Subaru isn't know for styling anyway so I'm not disappointed. I want more info on specs from the Frankfurt show.

BRZ just seems like a childish name.
Something a 16yr girl drives.
Duno but im not feeling the name one bit.
I agree that BR-Z would improve it abit

BRZ.... sounds like some kind of bacon sandwich.

and it does remind you of the word breeze, a potential nickname.... which leads to potential fart jokes. *sigh* they didnt think this name through it seems.
