FYI -

I wanted to see how the removal of the snorkel assisted with performance regarding the stock air box and short tube (stock rubber intake delete) and I was quite surprised that running in this configuration was a very noticeable improvement as well. So my theory on the stock intake system being 'one' or sucking air from the tip of the snorkel to the throttle body was off by means of performance but for sound yes. In reality, the removal of the snorkel should be done no matter what.

With the above being said, I have one brand new, never used, unpainted short tube available wrapped up and ready to ship that can be used in any configuration. This is the last of my inventory other than one short and one long tube that I use for continued testing on my car. PM me with questions.

Thanks.

Brian

I just put on the intake last night. OMG does it sounds soooo much better. I'm leaving for the beach today, but I'm gonna remove the snorkel before I head out. Thanks so much Xcelir8brz. Great kit you put together.

Short and Long Tubes are now gone! Thanks for the short-lived R&D efforts. For those whom were able to get on this, congrats and enjoy!

Put on heat shield and made brakets. Found a way to only use 2 total and it is rock solid.

You might want to try and develop some sort of complete enclosure -- every open spot is an entry point to suck in hot hair...

You might even be able to modify the OEM airbox to work, while maintaining the cone element filter.

You definitely want to block off everything above the fans (below the filter), while maintaining ducting to the air scoop in the front bumper.

X (the OP) has already proven the snorkel does not help deliver colder air.

Second my shop already has designs for a box but we only have a mig welder so we are waiting on our outsourced tig to have some free time

Can you guys give a quick step by step to remove the snorkel?

I think it would benefit this thread.
