Did my first event of the year in my car this past weekend, was planning on killing off my old tires... Turns out they were already dead and off pace. Oh well!
Over the weekend my steering rack limiters were delivered, I only needed one clip per side and now I can safely run the Konig wheels Car is still dirty from autocross, but danggggg

Got my shocks refreshed with a minor revalve from Shaftworks USA, finally had time to install them and realign my car right before we went to Maine for the Brunswick ProSolo in my wife's RX-8. I finally got to autocross the car with not-dead tires and the new setup this past weekend at Pocono. The car is FAST and I love it, haha. Only minor issue (which was expected) was the new 17x10s rubbing the rear trailing arm due to the traction mod lowering the arm into the path of the wheel. I've already ordered some different arms to get more clearance. Besides scraping the wheels and sounding bad, the only annoyance was the wheel weights being forcefully relocated in the process. Rebalanced them Saturday night and we're good to go for the next event.
The only "actual" car faster raw time was an SSP GT3 by a couple of tenths. The next faster cars were karts. My car is clearly working well! My fastest clean run from Pocono (and only clean run...): "You versus the guy she told you not to worry about" Leveled the splitter and tweaked the angle so it's pointed slightly nose down: Pocono pics:

You’re flying out there ! Jon shared your run with me and I was like oh sounds like traction mod is causing the trailing arm to rub haha. You will get it fixed in no time I’m sure.

Kenny,
What are some of the top mods you'd recommend for traction/driving feel? I've seen the 'traction mod' brackets and wasn't sure if they'd really help that much? I've got some cheapo Tein coilovers and have considered splurging on something a little fancier... not that I will probably ever use them on a track to their fullest potential. I make plenty of power, but getting it down strategically can be a challenge. When I run the dragon or just a spirited run on the street in general, I'd like to comfortable push the car (honestly I feel comfortable now but I'm sure there's room for improvement). |

Traction mod is well worth it. A few hundred bucks and like 45 minutes to install it. The rear is much more compliant and puts power down way better. Otherwise, just balancing spring rate and swaybars so the steady state balance of the car is neutral. With your extra power and such I feel like I'd focus on that so you can use it.

Installed new trailing arms, cheapies from Megan Racing/Hard Race. The sphericals are sealed so hopefully they hold up well as my car is a DD. It had "finger" space between wheel and trailing arm with 17x9s, now it has much more clearance. Shouldn't be a problem with 17x10s now.

Yeahhhhh..... my wife and I are ridiculous, haha. She dailies her RX-8 regularly, even with a race seat it's a more comfortable daily than her Prius, IMO.

Well... I did some setup changes and the car is faster and easier to drive. Not 100% where I want it yet, but the car is absurd considering how relatively little it has done to it. Coned away top PAX by a few tenths at Philly, but my clean run was still 2nd... by 9 thousandths.
My fast raw time: Fast clean run:

Weighed stock base model seats since I hadn't seen anybody weigh them yet.

I derped with video a bit and missed my fast run, sadly. My 2nd fastest run from yesterday's Finger Lakes SCCA event. My fastest run was good for the PAX win and 3rd in raw time behind a couple of CM drivers.
and I got to see my old first gen BRZ too
