Haven't had a chance to push the car yet, but the differences after installation are definitely noticeable.

Steering feels heaver, front end of the car feels more solid and planted, bumps in the road don't feel as jarring.

So far so good!

I was too much into a rush to get this thing installed, so without looking at the instructions I torqued the bar at 12 ft lbs of torque(bingo), and then idioticly installed the anti-abraision sleeve ON the strut bar itself(DOH!). I'll have to run back outside and make the necessary changes, thanks GrimmSpeed!

Got mine yesterday and installed it last night.

I think it's been discussed before, but I couldn't find the post. Aside from rubbing away the powdercoating, would it be bad to just let the AC hose rub against the bar (with the sleeve installed on the hose)?

I would not worry about rubbing the powdercoat off of the bar. The concern is that since the powdercoat is so abrasive due to the texture that over the long term it could potentially cause damage to the AC line. In testing the initial sheath, which was resting on the bar, there was a mark from the bar left on the AC line itself. The sheath had not been rubbed through or damaged either, rather we suspect that the heat conducted by the bar was leaving an imprint. Since I found this to be unacceptable, we decided the best fix would be to prevent contact between these two pieces entirely. With that said, long term testing may show that there is no real risk of damage involved. I like the "better safe than sorry" approach

We will only support the install in the way that we have described. However, there is nothing stopping you from trying alternative methods, I would just encourage you to keep an eye on the area for potential issues if you do choose to go that route.

got it...and installed as recommended... what I love the most about the bar right now is that you can barely tell something has been installed when you pop the hood.

Awesome! Here's some of the test data that we collected in an organized form. Check out how much more settled our shop BRZ was through a slalom with the brace installed! Just a couple thousandths of deflection and it behaves the way you'd expect. Without the brace, the chassis just gets less and less stable. Yikes!
