So I just finished reading the whole thread. One question. With Canadian 91 octane how much hp would I be looking at for this kit with everything else stock and carb tune? think I read 205 to 210 using virtual dyno. I realize it depends on where your start stock.

Yes, I did some testing with VirtualDyno. Posted my results here and here.
Of course the measurements are approximate, as it's not the real dyno, but gives an idea.

Other than having JR SC, my BRZ is stock, and I'm using the CARB tune. With Canadian 91 octane I got ~205-210whp according to VD, which is about 25% more than my measurements for the stock. Would be interesting to try it on a real dyno to see how much VD is off.

Thanks. I was completely sold on the system until now. More research to be done.

VD is way off. You should easily be seeing 40-50% increase with the kit.

Cool because I had my heart set on this system.

The manufacturer claims 50% increase in HP & 45% increase in TQ - there are dyno graphs to prove that. On the image they say it's with stock headers and exhaust, not sure what kind of tuning though.

I agree the Virtual Dyno may be way off due to the test conditions and the nature of the test itself. It might be something wrong with my specific install as well. I suspect that, as I did get the CEL once, though the car seems to work normally.

In any case, the kit has more potential, as the CARB tune is pretty conservative.

The CARB tune has been proven to be capable of running in many environmental and elevation situations. It's not the most optimal in your exact setup, but you can be certain the kit will perform well on track and in your travels/commute.

You will need a custom tune if you intend to change any of the factory catalytic converter (header and/or front pipe). While the extra $1000 for the EcuTek + CARB tune + CARB sticker sounds a little high up front, it'll allow you to run your car with complete factory equipment as you compile the list of parts that you want for your car. Keep in mind you will need a MAP sensor once you decide to modify your emissions systems since your MAF is already maxed out from the factory. Hope all this information helps.

That's what I liked about the pre-tuned kit. I could just install it myself, and run the car without worries. I know it might not give the maximum performance, which this kit can potentially deliver, but it didn't require any other modifications, and it is proven to be safe. If I will want more, there is still space to grow.

As for the performance - I don't have exact numbers for my install other than those questionable graphs from VD, but I do feel it in my daily commutes. Before I frequently felt like I wanted more power, but now the car already has more than enough to get me into troubles. The main goal is reached - it doesn't feel underpowered anymore!

There are a few things being tested right now for those who are curious about additional power, but it won't be announced for quite some time until everything is 100% proven to be repeatable and when the tunes are completely refined. FYI, the CARB tune is a product of several hundred hours of tuning and testing prior to submitting to CARB and product release.
