Got mine from Freeman. They lowballed me on the trade in (as expected) and hounded me for the extended warranty for about 30 minutes. Otherwise the experience was really nice. They loaned me an FR-S for a week while the one I ordered arrived. Also, you *should* be able to get a 2015 at this time, which you should insist on.

Yeah, I'll be coming out of pocket up front a little. I don't want to roll too much into the new loan. My warranty will be void within 6 months anyway. I plan to mod the hell out of the car. They'll probably still insist on trying to sell me on it. I'm not opposed to gap protection, but the warranty is a no go for me. They aren't going to approve anything on a modified engine. Will be nice if I can get one to drive while I wait for mine!

Hell even Park Place Lexus next door will tell you to avoid them and go to another Toyota dealership.
Hmm damn interesting, care to share more on your experience with them?

I purchased mine from Grapevine, i can agree about the overly aggressive salesmen. As for the service department, so far they have been great for me with both of my Scions.

Yep, I told Freeman I wanted a 2014 in Whiteout with less than 10 miles, navigation, and no spoiler. They found one within a day and had it within 4 days. Ordered mine almost exactly a year ago!

What engine mods are you planning? I've priced out my ideal turbo build and it came to about $12k including install. That included turbo kit, intercooler, exhaust, clutch, wheels, tires, coilovers ... everything I could think of except brakes (derp). Got my RPF1s and ZIIs about two weeks ago

Much could have changed since then but last March in 2013 when we purchased our Lexus from Park Place both our salesman and their service supervisor still had nothing but bad things to say about Toyota of Grapevine.

I had issues with:
  • Car getting damaged while under their care. Door ding and scratch. They refused to accept liability for it.
  • Work paid for but not completed. This happened because my wife took the car in and does not know to check for things. I checked when she arrived home and found work we paid for not even done.
  • Recommending services and parts that were not needed.
  • Trying to get us to pay for things that we had under service plan.

Most of the time these things happened when my wife took the vehicle in. I did not have time to take her car sometimes and the dealer was on her way to work.
They took advantage of her lack of knowledge and willingness to believe and accept what they told her.

I ended up having a long talk with the service manager one day after a scathing online survey I filled out.
The service manager did recognize that they took advantage of my wife and did not service her vehicle correctly.
He gave us $150 credit at the service department and fixed everything on my wifes vehicle.

I ended up going to Freeman Toyota after that debacle. Now I go to Toyota of Fort Worth to get my FR-S service and so far they seem to be pretty good.

I've had my fair share of stealership nightmares as well..

My gf and I went to Toyota of Grapevine to look for a car for her also.. they were your typical salesmen trying to push and pressure us into buying a car.. we really hated that..

I had a salesman at Vandergriff pull some stuff on me when I got my FR-S.. I wasn't really in a position to do much of anything since my credit was less than perfect at the time.. but now that it's better I re-financed with my credit union at 1.99% and found out that you can actually cancel any warranties they make you get!

Also not sure if anyone knows this, but dealerships can actually mark up your APR by 2% in the state of the Texas.. So what they're telling you that you can get could actually be 2% lower...

Considering the ESC just to get me over the torque dip... just a DD for me for now. Like most of us, waiting for the product to get a little more mature. I like that I can swap back to factory if needed.

Side question - Anyone in the Dallas area powder coat their factory rims ?? If so where? How much ? Satisfied ? Thx
