Awesome, will prolly get some tuning done in Aus anyways.

Thanks for the response Sellout

Next question, is there any advantage to running a lightweight pulley kit (AC, water, crank etc) in conjunction with this kit?

If so, would there be other things to consider? (belt slipping etc)

Decided it was easier to use a new valve cover for the oil fed setup. Ordered it up, they said there was only 1 in north america O.o

Along with the 2.87" pulley and belt, they supplied me with:
540cc injectors
265LPH fuel pump

So far these are working great with their e85 flex fuel setup.

I've seen 13psi on my FA20club gauge FWIW.

I don't know the part # for the belt and if i were smart I'd have a spare.

I run the exact same setup as Jack except with a 3.125. We are both on DW65 pumps. P.S. if you install it don't forget the rubber grommit at the base. A few members have had issues with that.

This depends on a number of factors such as temperature, elevation, efficency range of supercahrger, flow restrictions in the exhaust, etc. A turbo will regulate to a specified PSI using a wastegate for regulation. The vortech unit uses no regulation and pumps out what it pumps out. I see 12PSi if I bounce the rev limiter on mine with just the 3.125 pulley at 1,100 ft, 78F, and stock exhaust. But at my rev limit we calculated 11.5PSI by testing atmospheric pressure & external input sensor hooked into the dyno.

Toni @ FA20Club sells both standard and gates racing for the 2.87" pulley last I checked. Give him a call he can get you the part number. But for the sake of contributing if you get the part number you should quote your post so others searching can find it.

Alright so after much research I guess the 3.125 would get old for me fairly quick and it's more of just a mid range kick. I'll get the 2.87 and get the belt. Now my search to find the part number for the 2.87 pulley! Stupid 91 is going to limit me but I'll take what I can get.

Not sure exactly on part numbers but this is probably what you are chasing;

Also while on smaller pulleys, does anyone know if this voids Vortech's warranty on the kit (even if it is their pulley)?

If you remove the pulley (which requires removal of a tamper proof seal) you will void the warranty as vortech would have no way of knowing if you overspun the blower with a pulley too small

Just got PART of my FA20club 12psi kit in, its a blue gates racing belt.
Its the exact same part number as the belt I currently have on my car with the stock pulley.

I'm thinking this is a shipping error

::edit

Its not a shipping error, FA20Club just got back to me and said its the same belt used they just supply the gates racing belt as it is stronger and less likely to slip and cause issues

last i checked it still caries the 1 year warranty from purchase date though. However you do not quality for the extended 3 year (if i remember??) warranty if you remove the pulley. This is just voided.

I don't want to start any drama, especially against FA20Club as I spent a lot of time working with them, but this is what caused my "fun time" with belts. I damaged all the under-side insulation on my hood, broke 3 idlers, a belt cover... etc. I was not using the racing belt but was told by FA20Club that they ran 3.125" pulleys w/o issue on the stock belt. When in fact you need a decently smaller belt. Hell running a belt 1 stop tighter within a day or two I wore the label off. Mind you however I am in Phoenix and the temperature is significantly warmer here than where he tested it... But I am sure even vortech will fully agree with me that you should be running a tighter belt.

I also thought the RB series belt just had stronger backing, not actually stronger grip properties? You will likely need something smaller than a 962 belt on the 2.87. Maybe 960 or 956...

I am running a 962 on my 3.125" and finally no more belt snapping / slipping, it just took me breaking 8 belts to figure that out. Also mind you I have an idler (passenger side of engine) that is slightly smaller i think 0.1 or 0.2". But with another .255 inches taken off your pulley... i would still feel you would need something in the 95-96" range rather than a mid 97" range.

Just to put things into perspective:
Pulley: 3.48"
Belt: 975
Belt Size: 97.54"

Pulley: 3.125"
Belt: 962
Belt Size: 96.29"

Pulley Difference: 0.355"
Belt Difference: 1.25"
Ratio: ~3.5:1

Mind you this is slightly off due to my idler pulley. But the passenger side pulley has minimal belt wrap around unlike the vortech pulley. The vortech pulley has a large surface area so decreasing the size should give more of an affect towards belt size difference.

If you were running the same idler as me with this math (which is probably wrong but who knows!) this is a ballpark idea of belt size:

Pulley: 2.87"
Pulley Difference: 0.61"
Estimated Belt Difference: 2.13"
Estimated Belt Size: 95.4"
Estimated Belt: 956 or 960

Considering I have a slightly smaller idler, the 960 is probably closer.

The reason he is probably selling the 975RB belt is because the next step down is actually a 935RB belt. as in 93.5" this is a tad small...

This could just be a unique case to my vehicle, driving environments, and driving style but... I broke quite a few belts. And I also had a good 8k miles or so on the belt that came with my kit. Alignment was perfect. When I removed the 3.48" pulley I didn't remove the blower, or any bolts related to it. I simply put a long handled wrench down to the tensioner and loosened the belt. I also used a strap wrench to add tension to the pulley, compared to others who just used a wrench around the kit belt on the pulley. I thought that the belt seemed "loose" but was ensured it worked previously. However most people switched form a 3.125 to a 2.87 fairly quickly.

Reference to gates standard micro-v belt sizing:
http://www.gatespowerpro.com/Comerge...nchInID=607492

Note: this post is not pointing any fingers at FA20club. I do not know what properties the racing belt has over the standard. I just thought i recalled that it had a stronger back. This is just to show my findings and hopefully keep things out in the open.
