The guys that have issues have been contacted and we are taking care of them. Those that are waiting will not have the skid plate issues.

@ JDL...

What solution are you recommending to your customers that are planning on using your header, to avoid getting CEL. (Obviously I'm talking about those who are installing on an otherwise stock car) Are you advising spacing the second 02 sensor out, relocating the 2nd sensor behind the cat in the front pipe, or neither and just ignoring the CEL.

There seems to be different people doing different things. But, I'd like to know what solution (if any) you are suggesting?

Cheers

You could always try http://www.bigdaddiesgarage.com/mini-cat-cel-fix.html.

Nothing here but... I'm glad all the early-early adopters caught on to the snags and that the company is doing the right thing and addressing them.

rant: Back in the day when you jumped on a prototype/initial batch/special price part, you expected to run into some issues. I never aired all the issues as they happened online unless the company was douchy about it. Most companies will go to great lengths to make good. It's really doing the entire community a disservice to not work with the company privately to see if they'll address the problem first before blasting them on the internet. You guys really should handle issues in this fashion. Or just wait until production parts have been out a while. It really irks me that people feel the need to broadcast their drama IMMEDIATELY without even seeking resolution like a real adult. I feel that if I was an awesome company seeking to do business in aftermarket parts, I’d deliberately avoid certain segments because they were full of d-bags. I don’t want our cars to fall in with that crowd.

Just to set the record straight, I did contact JDL personally first before mentioning the skid plate issue. I also made sure it was ok to post certain conversations Ronnie and I had about this issue before coming on the forums.

I HATE when people blindly go posting and bitching about something without reaching out to the company prior. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt (which backfires sometimes).

Yeah, I've got some time for the headers. I'll be attempting a coilover install myself today after work and into this weekend if need be. I've got 0 suspension experience... lol. Might take me a while, but it will save a lot of money before the alignment!

Nah you will be ok. Coils are super simple...and especially this car that has 0 camber adjustment its not like you even have to worry about camber bolts

Annoying part is adjusting the coils to your liking for height.

Yeah, that's my biggest worry honestly. Thankfully the Tarmac 0's are only a 1 wrench turn for setting height. They don't have the double lock with both wrenches so I can easily do it while mounted.

Back on topic, I hope pictures are posted of my chrome coated header before it ships. I want to see how awesome it looks!

When JDL ships out my revised header, I'm going to let my buddy wrap them. He does an awesome job with wrapping and even though I don't need it, these headers are kind of noisy because of the thinner metal walls on them.

Yeah, for sure. I already know what I'm getting into with a 3" exhaust, lol.

I've wrapped two manifolds with exhaust wrap before and didn't find it to decrease noise at all.

It seems like it might help at first but don't expect it to be noticeably quieter when wrapped. YMMV
