It's true - talked to Hollis this past weekend.

As for the foam, please nobody consider actually protesting something as stupid as this. Let's be honest....who wants to be in impound that long anyway when there's beer to drink and homes to get back to. My experience has been that protests are something that gets discussed a lot on the internet but don't really ever happen. In five years of running National events, I've seen it happen once (for a tuned Vette in Super Stock...it was legitimate). I'm sure it's happened other times, but the point is "throwing paper" is not very common.

I just don't understand what the point of going in illegal is. Like taking the carpet out to make shock adjustments easier....if one person does it can we all do it? Would make my life and fingers a lot happier.

Just cut the carpet. I did. Two slits and I can peel it up to adjust.

Fwiw, I run with the full carpet/board in, that way it won't get wet or blow away.

Honestly guys, let's drop this stryofoam issue. I'm sorry I asked...poo poo on me

In other news, I'm excited (and slightly anxious) to see how the ND Miata does. I had posted the GRM article comparing the NC to the ND ( http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...postcount=3680 ), so it will be interesting to see how a prepped ND does!

He will run with CS but for exhibition only, won't be included in the results (is my understanding). SEB black helicopters will monitor carefully.

Good move by Mazda though. I'm waiting for manual cars to show up at dealers locally before I go test drive.

Protest probably only if you win.

Seriously guys... the question asked wasn't "Can I get away with intentionally breaking the rules by removing the styrofoam from my trunk". If that's the question you want answered then yes you most likely can because paying money to protest you for that isn't worth it unless someone loses by a couple thousandths. But if someone protests you for it you are, in fact, in violation of the rules and there's no getting around that. At that point instead of your results being up to your driving they're up to the committee. If you want to risk it that's your choice to make.

Not getting protested for it at a local event or a regular tour event doesn't mean no one will at the national championships. If you play in this sport long enough you will see protests happen and might eventually be involved in one. Just because you haven't personally seen one before doesn't mean they don't happen.

So, I just snapped one of the sway bar brackets for my Hotchkis front bar. Leaving for Lincoln in less than 36 hours. Assuming I can't source one locally tomorrow morning, does anyone have either:

- a Hotchkis sway bar bracket
- a full setup for a front bar

that they are willing to loan or sell? Bonus points if you are showing up for the pro.

Can you order one from a scion dealer in Lincoln and then drive the car up with no front bar? Then put the bar on for Saturday.

Just to clarify: Hotchkis has a proprietary bracket which you need? Not a stock one? Correct?

Options to consider:

Have you contacted Hotchkis to see if they can next day a new bracket to your hotel? It might get there before you do...

Sounds like Dave has some other front bar/bushing setups he might be able to lend if you have stock brackets.

An entire new Hotchkis 25mm setup is in Amazon for about $150. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009P4KOTY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_titl e_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER"]Amazon.com: Hotchkis 22445F Front Sway Bar for Scion FR-S: Automotive[/ame]
One day shipping is available for about $9, putting it at your hotel on Thursday.

If all else fails and your car is sucking it, I can offer a co drive for the tour...

Good luck.

Oh one other thing to consider: depending on the differences between the stock bracket and Hotchkis bracket, maybe it's possible to bend the factory bracket or use washers etc to rig a factory bracket to work? Maybe you could weld the bracket back together? It looks thin enough that a 120v wire feed welder could put it back together no problem though the integrity might be questionable. Just some other thoughts that came to mind...
