wouldn't the V6 from Toyota make a bit more sense considering it has proven itself quite capable in the MR2 and some other older toyota sports cars

I think if you're dumping any sort of money into an engine swap, just go 2J or LS and call it a day. No sense spending the same amount of money on a swap thats down on power.

Not to mention that an LS or 2J will require a different transmission, better cooling, and likely axles and such. A V6 needs none of that.

If you'd read any replies besides your own, you would've seen my comment just a few months ago stating that with only ~30K miles on my car, I'm not expecting to need to do ANY engine-related work for some time.
