sounds like a can of worms... i guess i better just go back to my original choices of Enkei/OZ/Montegi... no wonder the cheap prices on these.

im very weary about unsafe tires on cars that cars like these where u put alot of trust on corners and speed... hmm, yea, i dont need anything else - back to the drawing boarddd

I've had a set of Rotas for track duty and they were good. $550 a set vs $550 a wheel = me not crying when I took my car flying off track.

If you like em, go for it! If you're scared, buy some RPF1's and call it a day. I ran those too!

Rota's are fine, the stories you hear about them failing are bs. Iv seen people spin out on the track and slide on dirt and nothing happened to the rota wheels.

There are cheap non-rip off alternatives like ASA. It's a Korean company that licensed its tech from BBS. These are low-pressure cast, but with the added process of shot-peening that enhances fatigue resistance. Rota doesn't do this step.

$160 each at Tire Rack.

The Rota Torques you posted are very strong for their weight. Some track-prepped cars run them for that reason and they've survived off-track excusions.

I'm actually considering picking up a set of Rotas for track duty.

245/35/17 is extremely short, if you're going to do a 245 on this setup, i'd highly suggest going with a 245/40/17 tire

245/35 is a great size to go with if you're running an 18" wheel, but for 17's that's pretty short and it's not even a common tire size.

My bad, I was thinking 18"

245/40 would be good

225/45 looks really good on this size wheel too. Depends what you like

yea it all comes down to the ride height

If the car is stock / mild drop, 245's is fine

With coilovers on an extremely low setup, the 225's would probably be a better setup.

Took some photos of the silver FR-S owned by @YAER the other day. He was just bolting on his black powdercoated Torque's 17x9.0 +30 wrapped in the stock rubber (215/40-17) with BC coilovers cranked down.
