I still can't get the reason why keeping the pipes so long
Jason@Nameless, is that for higher gas velocity, or any scientific reason for that instead of the shorter Y-story as Greddy or SRT for example? |

I asked that question in one of the threads; there's a scientific reason for it.

I asked this as well, between the bends and the length it looks like it would be more restrictive. I was assured that zero gains were seen with the typical design over this one. More over, due to the lack of loading on one side vs the other, there may be some gains to this design as well as less drone from what I understand. Hopefully Jason will comment further.

I think they wanted to keep the pipe length equal so there is equal distribution to both sides of the axleback. In order to do the split design, they would have needed to do a full catback design (which you can see they made a prototype of it in the nameless vs AP thread in one of their pictures) and it made no extra power. So they just stuck with the axleback, with equal length routing. I noticed several other axlebacks are not routed correctly to equally distribute exhaust gas. Just an efficiency thing, I guess.
also on the dyno, their axleback had the same power figures as their axleback delete. So they know there is zero restriction in the system.

Yeah three reasons: Equal distribution to both sides is critical for proper sound and avoiding that 'one side gets all the flow'. Also, when dyno'd back to back with a single, non muffled 2.5" straight pipe there was negligible difference between the two with the dual exit biasing torque and not losing any horsepower. Finally, our pipe diameter choice on the secondary circuit is to match the flow of the single 2.5" and minimize drone. The larger that circuit gets, the worse the drone is, from our testing.
There's more going on in that exhaust also, but this is the long and the short of our reasoning of the design. Jason |

@Nameless
Last week I've installed my axle back and so far I'm in love with the sound! This week I'll install the high flow cat section.
