Re: BRZ Availability in Santa Clarita, California

This is an e-mail that I received on August 2.

Good Morning Marrk

Thank you for the opportunity to earn your business. My name is Jerry Regalado your contact at Galpin Subaru in Santa Clarita Valley. This is a new month and I like to update my customers on the Subaru BRZ. You been on my waiting list, so here is the latest news. Galpin Subaru currently is Sold out on BRZ. We were given 8 BRZ and all 8 were Sold orders. This month we will deliver our last three sold ordered models. Once in a while a Sold ordered BRZ arrives and the buyer changes his mind. If this happens, I will send out word that a Subaru BRZ is available.

Galpin decided that pre-selling this BRZ prior to arrival is not fair to our Galpin Customers. The next models we receive will be sold on a first come first serve. Also Galpin does not believe in Dealer Markup (raising the price over MSRP).

Our available Subaru BRZ will arrive in September 2012.

1. 2013 Subaru BRZ Limited in WR Blue Pearl/ Dark Gray B1F) (KEB|QEV|QER|H8B) POPULAR PACKAGE #1b Standard Model.
2. 2013 Subaru BRZ 2.0 Premium in Satin White Pearl / Dark Gray B1A) (KEB|QEV|H8B) POPULAR PACKAGE #1A Standard Model

I will keep you informed on available BRZ and sometimes Subaru adds more cars to our List. Thank you for your time and if you are no longer in the market for a Subaru BRZ please drop me a line and I will remove you from my list.

Sincerely,

Jerry Regalado

They are a pretty good dealership my parents bought both cars there and I almost bought my Frs in Orange. I'm pretty last time I check with them that they don't add any marks up

Yeah, my parents have gotten a few of their cars from toyota of orange.
I'm most worried about mark ups.

I was surprised with DCH Toyota of Torrance being there. I had a very good experience with them, they were very helpful with me. My sales guy was awesome and friendly. I guess it depends on who you deal with. Some are probably asses.

Reason being they said $5,000 markup + $3,700 leather seats (that weren't even installed yet just "on order")

Lol I ended up getting the car at base + upgrades price and also a free lo-jack because they fucked up my contract 4 times making me come back to the dealership each time. One of those fuck ups was on MY down payment they tried to steal over 600 dollars from me so my monthly payments would be higher thinking I wouldn't notice...

If any dealers give you an issue or do things out of line- report them to Scion HQ and they will get shit fixed for you pretty quickly, even got me free lo-jack install.
I had a very similar experience at Elmore Toyota---they are horrible!!

I am curious too. I have a deposit with them also. Haven't heard anything from them yet.

Dealer you guys need to check with is my dealer Scion of San Bernardino and ask for Jim Stark. He has a few in stock. He has 1 or 2 with a slight mark up, but most are left as is. Let him know Kirby from Scionlife/Alpha SQUAD sent you to get the VIP treatment.

I picked up my car from Jeff Chang at Longo in El Monte over the weekend. He personally has more orders for cars to be delivered than most other dealers will get in their annual allocation. Sold at MSRP with under $90 in doc fees. Smart. Won't waste your time.

Check out my blog below for his email address.

Matt-
I went off your recommendation, to go with Jeff Chang at Longo. This was without doubt, the easiest and best car buying experience I've ever had. I can't thank you enough for passing on his info (gathered from your blog).

Big thanks to Jeff Chang at Longo. He is an honest, straight forward guy. There were NO surprises and no pressure. He sold at MSRP without any addons.
