I'm hoping something cheaper fits. Like an updated r154 out of a newer truck. The v160s might as well be made out of gold where I'm at.

If you have any adapter plates from an old test pattern or that were flawed during manufacturing, I'd be tempted to buy it from you. I have no need for a Supra transmission, but it would make a nice garage clock or piece of art in a man cave.

couple quick questions:
1. does it need a custom shifter/ 2. is the clutch required of can you run an off the shelf unit for either the supra or frs? |

Have y'all considered putting together a stronger gearset that's able to withstand more torque, and with longer ratios to better suit FI in this car?

you need to read the whole thread. yes new driveshaft, about 20 pounds heavier, no gearsets, too expensive and not much room in the case.
