As far as STR vs STX, go to the sections showing which cars are legal in which classes, then look at the nationals results from last year. For STX it's Civic Si's, some e30 and e36 BMWs, and some RX-8's for the most part. STR is mostly populated by S2000's. We can have a lot of fun in STR, but we probably won't ever be competitive with the S2000s directly. They have more power, torque, and displacement. The RX8 is a much better benchmark if you want to compare power vs weight. I had a hotshoe STX RX8 driver drive my car at a Cenla autocross school a few weeks ago and he made the comment that it felt like his RX8. Obviously not a quantifiable comparison, but it gives you a good idea of where the car belongs. If it gets classed in STR it simply won't ever win a national title. In STX it has a pretty good chance. |

The RX8 has not proven to be the it car in STX. The older BMWs have been faster. Some say the 08 WRX will develop into the car to have. THe twins might develope into the car to have, so what. "IT" cars come and go. The SCCA needs this car to be competative. I mean look at the last Delta event. There were 4 and it has only been out a month. When has that happened.

I'm going to get my KWs in sometime this week. If all goes according to plan and I can find an extra set of hands, I'll have them installed for the Heat Stroke Pro-Am on Sunday. Will you be running then? If so, it'd be nice to get some help dialing them in. Whatever settings we come up with would directly translate over to your setup and give you a one event leg up. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

No, ill be working. First event in the car will be chenault on the 12th.
I've been meaning to start a kW v3 thread in the suspension section. So people can share set ups and settings. But I have no problem sharing my setting here. Ill have them on Friday. I will probably just start in the middle and go from there. This is the first set of doubles I've had, so its kind of new to me. I think Kerry will be there on the 12th. Ill try to pick his brain. Let me know what you come up with and we can compare. Next cenla event is the 19th at NPR. Working for that one also The timers and the display have been rebuilt. So that's good. |

Sorry to hear you're otherwise predisposed. I'll see what I come up with and let you know when I have a first guess on setting. I feel like I'll be wandering in the wilderness for a few events without some competition to compare against.
That said, does anyone know a place in or within an hour or so's drive of Baton Rouge I can go to for corner balancing? Priority 1 will be finding those settings at race and street driving ride heights. A good shop for alignments would also be appreciated! Some place that doesn't mind tweaking alignments as my misguided whim sees fit would especially fit that mold! |

I think Chris Carver does corner balancing at Carver Motprsports ill check and get back to you. If not Fast Guys does.
The Firestone off O'Neil? Has lifetime allighments for a pretty good price. I can find out which one for sure. What kind of tops are you using? Do you have any camber adjustment front and rear? I need to order some front bolts and decide what I want do with the rear. Shoreline make a rear bolt kit, or you can buy a lower control arm. Probably buy the bolts. |

I went through FT-86 SpeedFactory and ordered the following: Whiteline camber/caster mounts Whiteline front camber bolt kit Whiteline rear camber kit Hopefully those parts together will give me the camber I need for clearance and to touch all of the tire tread under track conditions and tire pressures. |
