My 0-60 time is like 10 seconds. I'm not really looking for speed, I'm looking for reliability and drive ability.

Just get the FR-S or Br-z.. get it over with. The focus st sure has better "stats" but it is still slower going around the VIR than the BR-Z. I just don't want to see a " I crashed my FR-S" post... >_>

When I was 16, I was at NMMI, a Military boarding school. DUTY HONOR RESPECT!

Sorry, but you already have a nice car. Posting on the FR-S/BRZ forum "Is it the right car for me? (I'm 16)" "My parents are going to buy it for me." Doesn't make sense to me.

Will the opinion of a bunch of strangers change your mind about how many cars you need or how much money you get your parents to spend on you?

It is the right car for all of us. And almost all of us had to buy it ourselves.

No. Unless paid for/worked on yourself. Never a performance car. A huge level of respect need to be shown to something like this. Something that doesn't USUALLY come from a car that mom and dad buy. This is what I have observed in my 4 years of high school and even now in college. If you want one by all means get one, it's a fantastic car, but I implore you pay for it yourself to build in that responsibility. We were all 16 once and we all remember how we were with cars. If anyone says they didn't do some hot dogging they are lying out of their liar holes. I certainly wouldn't have trusted me with an FR-S at 16. And I was, by comparison to my high school class, a safe and conservative driver. I am not sure how my dad trusted me with the 1957 Chevy 210 Station Wagon I drove senior year. Probably only because I had helped restore it.

We personally can't pass this judgement. We don't know you or your habits. If you are asking though you must have doubts. Trust your instinct. As cool as it would be is it the smart choice? Get something you can't get in trouble in. Make it yours. That's what I did with my Fit, I learned to love it.
Hope we have been a help.

This "group of strangers" happened to help me alot and bring up alot of valuable points.

I expected some negativity, mostly caused by jealously I presume.

Lmao, I'm so with you on that one

In terms of lethality to a 16 year old.... I'd place driving a Busa in the same neighborhood as holding an live IED, fighting during the Civil War, or skydiving without a parashoot

It's a ~15k one way ticket to etenral sleep....... and I LOVE bikes

Its fine just get one, if you destroy it maybe your parents will buy you another, plus what better excuse to upgrade to a more powerful version when they come out in a couple years. Make sure its a frs though... Its cheaper so if it gets destroyed its cheaper to replace making it easier to convince your parents to give you another chance. And if you dont destroy it, even better.

I own my own home. Cars come and go. They are not assets, they are liabilities.

Do your parents have a college fund for you with the same amount of money, or more, as the car costs? If so, good job! Otherwise I think its silly, and the money should be invested in something that will last more than a few years. Like college or a down payment on a house.

I am not jealous. I remember what I was like when I was 16. I wanted a sports car. Good luck. I hope you make wise choices.

Stay the fuck away from Scion of Escondido.

A full credit report before a test drive, are you shitting me? 45 minutes in and still typing info into a computer. No. I'll take my business elsewhere.
