However, that said, I agree with you that there are more than a few occasions I do wish there is more torque on tap. And nothing is worse than having the looks but not the backing. Especially when you have those pesky other cars and trucks breathing down your neck.

This is the conversation in the elevator today with the executive secretary. I love your new car, the red one, what is it? Oh it's a Subaru. It looks nice, is it fast? (I tried unsuccessfully to change the subject as I don't want my bosses to know I have a new car) It's pretty good but it's nothing fancy, it has a small 2 liter engine. Really, but it's at least a v-6 right? No, it's a 4-cyl, ok, I'll see you later ....

I hate to tell her but her Lexus GS will probably kick my ass to the way to the onramp.

I'll wait for the early adopter reviews and prices to drop before I go FI on mine.

Kombatlion, I would definitely go FI if you have the means and the environment to play with. PR looks like a lovely place and I plan on visiting it in the future.
Finally someone understand, I have a BMW M3 next to me in a traffic jam and he said wow beautiful car is pretty fast rigth? I said yes in the curves! Lol!

Hey but I understand now no straigt racing for me just in the curves and hills, i dont want to pissed off the fanboys! Lol!

I hear ya on the hp thing, but here's the thing: you gotta rise above it. Be mature. There's always going to be someone who's running NOS on a beater sh!tbox that will be faster. If you had a Ferrari 458, and some Sentra ran up your bumper - sure, the temptation is there to dust the guy, but the mature response is to pull over and let him by. (The jerk response would be to slow down and pace the guy next to you, or if on a single lane road, just slow way down. But think about it - do you really want this cheap guy who probably doesn't even have insurance riding your bumper?)

That said - I should take my own advice. My other car is a 300hp (modified) WRX. It'll move. When someone tailgates me and there's cars in the other lanes, I just maintain my speed (usually passing the other cars at a bit above speed limit). When there's a large opening, I gun it to triple digits, then change lanes and coast back down to the speed I was traveling. It usually takes a few minutes for the tailgater to catch up, and if I needed to get back in the left lane before then, he's missed his window.

On topic - does this car "need" more hp? I think with no other cars on the road, it does just great. On twisty roads its not like I'm restricted by the engine - I barely touch the gas between hairpins. My 130hp Miata is overpowered for some of the roads I take. (15-30mph in the hairpins is crazy fast for the roads I'm talking about)

Just try to ignore the street racers and highway speed demons. You're probably best to avoid them anyways.

I'm wondering if there will be a (relatively) inexpensive upgrade option this year.

http://www.carsdirect.com/2014/subaru/forester

"The Forester will come with a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter Boxer flat four-cylinder engine, or with a turbocharged and direct-injected flat four with 250 horsepower."

"You'll have the choice of a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter Boxer or a new direct-injection turbocharged 2.0-liter Boxer with 250 horsepower, the more-powerful engine closely related to the unit used in the BRZ sports car."

http://pricinginsider.carsdirect.com...o-coming-soon/

"The new boosted 2.0 flat-four will reportedly make around 280 horsepower and 250 lb-ft. of torque, and will come to more Subaru models besides the BRZ Turbo (or BRZ STI). The turbo engine does away with the Toyota-designed direct and port-injection system in favor of a straight direct-injection system, combined with a single twin-scroll turbocharger"

Jeez.. im a big rotary fan.. well look no farther then PR.. it has to be the rotary capital of the world.. they swap those things in everything.. toyotas, nissans, old 4age's in everything too.. and FAST.. some of the fastest run "what you brung" cars at a strip that ive seen.. it seemed just about everything was running faster then 11's.. i bet the slowest car i seen there still ran a 13.. and they drive fast around every where else.. the passion they have for their cars and the scene is awesome.. i seen cars run for slips, down a mountain road, and a drag race.. they had it all.. i spent to much time at fort Buchanan, but that's what i was there for.. still id love to go just for vacation

Thanks for your kind words!! It is such a beautiful island (although lately being bugged by a bit of a crime problem). I do believe PR is the capital of rotary engines man... everything and anything rotary modified in the island flies!!! We jokingly call it the trick island, because see a car making huge amounts of power and look at how it was built and makes no make sense

Its extremely refreshing to read such a good review from a visitor. I moved to Miami 5 years ago and love it here, but there are certain things I will forever miss!
