I hear ya, that makes sense. Have you decided on tires yet?

I'm going with the Dunlop Direzza ZIIs.
- 235/40/18
- 255/35/18
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

I was exploring a 245/35/18 up front but they don't offer the Z2s in that fitment and I want to give them a try.

It would put my front wheel weight at ~47lbs and the rear at ~50lbs with tires. (OEM is about 41-42lbs)

Update:

I was going to wait until I hit 3500 miles to do the first oil change but sitting at 3198, I thought what the heck? I picked up the Oil Change Kit from Mach V which isn't too far away from me. It included a 5L jug (5.2qts), a single quart, a Subaru oil filter, and crush washer. I picked up an extra quart just to have.

The car is running great, one of the simpler oil changes I've ever had to do (I use to work at a shop as a teen too). The 911s are really simple but this is just about as equally simple. I ran about a .25 quart through with the plug out just to get any residue from the old oil. It's probably not necessary but I like to do that. I have an oil analysis kit coming in the mail. I thought for $25 I'll send it to the lab and see how things look.

I got my USB OBDII adapter. I played with it for like 3 hours. For some reason I can't get the driver to work properly on Windows 8. I'm not an IT slouch either...oh well $15 down the drain unless I can figure out more. Done with it for the evening.

It was a nice day out so I decided to test fit my wheels:

Front:

Rear:

I'm not crazy about the offset/fitment but we will see when I get some tires on and mount them. It's hard to tell with the spring uncompressed. For more pics of the fitment, see the post below:

Sending my oil in to the lab for an analysis:

I'm still waiting on the coilovers. I've heard they should ship in mid-march from the Eibach contact on here. So I'm guessing around the beginning of April. I plan to put those on first and then order my direzza 2 tires. Ill probably run a little rubber off the OEM tires so maybe by the begging of May I'll get the tires on and mount the wheels. We will see if I can hold out that long!

Update:

I got a good deal on a brake kit for the fronts from a forum member who wasn't able to use them because of his class requirements. They are actually for the WRX 03+ with the caliper brackets for the 08+ which fit on the BRZ. They are only the 4-pot calipers and the rotor diameter is only 12" (compared to the stock 11.5"). However, they shave 16lbs per corner. There was one exception to this kit, the bolts supplied don't work with the bracket, you'd have to order the 08+ specific bolts (the kit came with the rotors, etc). The Part# is 230-10425 (I will update after I get them on to confirm, also ordered #230-10646) for those interested. I will review after I get the new bolts in and get them put on, but here are a few pics:

Kit part #140-9193

The kit:

Niice. What kinda calipers? I'm running 4-pot Dynapro DB's with 2pc 11.5" rotors on my MR2. Love 'em!

Update:
I'm still waiting on the bolts I ordered from Wilwood..should be any day now. I'm also waiting on my Eibach R2s.

I also ordered the FA20CLUB Equal Length Exhaust Manifold/Header!

I received my BBS center caps. Despite ordering 70mm face caps, I received ones that measure about 74-75mm. The backs click right in but since the face doesn't sit flush into the hub bore, I'm not sure what to do. It doesn't look feasible to grind them down to fit. They also sit a little taller. I think I'll just dab some adhesive on the edge and let them sit flush with the overhang on the wheel. It doesn't look that bad.

Caps:

Fronts:

Rears:

See, a little oversized but they click in and they don't look bad (have to be up close to notice):

Compared to the ESMs:

Soon for the coilovers i hope, i certainly have no control over build times at Eibach but there will be no delay from the time they come in to the time i ship them out.
