Yep! You've owned it. I still remember this feeling: owned a car 1000+ miles away in a dealer's showroom...looking at the dealer send picture on iPhone every few hours...waiting for the arrival date and the truck driver phone call...it is so much like the feeling of waiting for the first date and enjoy every moment of it.

Just wired my funds to a dealer in Madison Wisconsin. Don miller. They were super professional and easy to work with. Great price (at or below msrp) Car is being shipped in next few days. I couldn't get the Glendale dealer to budge on 5000 markup and my neighborhood dealer wasn't returning my calls.

Faster and cheaper to go out of state. Check cars.com. That was the best advice I found on the forum.

How much is your shipping cost to ship from WI>CA? Let's see who is the member ship/buy the farest distance here.

I overnighted my bank draft to the dealer (Mike Shaw) so they will get it tomorrow. My Red Limited AT is supposed to arrive at the dealer tomorrow as well. Then they'll need to overnight me paperwork back to sign. By the time all is done, it'll be next week before the car gets on the truck. Too bad we can't do everything electronically like I did my refi with Quicken Loans several times. Except for the appraisal and notary girl they sent over, everything was done on my computer.

Congrats! I saw a Red Limited Auto in Stevens Creek last week, they were asking $4k over! Way to go.

If anybody is still looking for a BR-Z, Jeremy over at a dealership in Boulder, CO helped me out a lot. I didn't end up buying from him but he was offering a couple of models at $600-$1000 below MSRP and his shipping company would've cost me about $650 to ship to SF, CA.

His email is j.pilon@flatironsimports.com if anybody wants to get in touch with him. I was THIS close to buying a WR Blue BR-Z from him (and flying out there to drive it back) but I ended up getting a Scion FR-S from a local dealership here.

My sales guy, Doug Gleason at Mike Shaw sent me some pics of my red Limited; my first peek at what I've bought! But I've lost a day and more because I'm still not hooked up with a shipper and my sales guy was off yesterday. In addition to the dealer getting a shipper lined up, I guess I'll need to call around tomorrow and see who can it pick the car when and when they'll get it to my door. I'm not in any big hurry but I rather have the car sit in my garage than in some dealerships back lot.

For the folks still following my saga... All is done, the car is now officially mine and can be picked up. However, due to the Thanksgiving holidays and all, the dealer can only secure one shipper that will do the deed for $750 to SoCal. This is after I started shopping for a shipper myself this morning and found one via Goldwing that will pick up this Sat for $575. Not quite as low as some quotes I received in the $400s but certainly not as high as DAS and all of the enclosed transporters. Some carriers have GPS trackers so you can see where and when your baby is and coming. With my shipper, I minimally have his cell phone. Enclosed is nice but this is no Enzo and besides, the cars were shipped to the dealer in open carriers anyways. Alan at Goldwing sent over the Order Form, the shipper's contact nos, the shipper's DOT cert, insurance cert and info and tax info. He then charged me $125 deposit over the phone with the remaining $450 to be exchanged during delivery on Tues or Weds. BTW, here's a money saving tip. Because adding a car to a insurance policy is automatic coverage for the first 30 days, I delayed adding it to the policy for a few weeks or so or at least I register the car with DMV. Thus saving a month worth of premium. Onwards !

I thought about that too, delay my annual payment like 1 month and then switch insurance company every 13 months... Technically it can work.

My car arrived last night. Charles the driver made it up the hill to my residence and backed into my street short of my house (else he wouldn't have been able to turn around). I was prepared to drive down the hill to meet him if he had called to say it was problematic to come up.

Given the already dark 6 pm and LA 405 traffic he has to cut through with 4 cars on board, I find the truck driver to be a super nice guy and very much unlike the shady character I was bracing for. He took his time to unload the car, for me to inspect and for my kids to snap pics.

The car is in as new as a shape it can be and everything literally checks out. All my fears as to who picked it up, who has it (Charles was not the original driver assigned), where it is e.g. was put to rest. It had 5 miles on it and just going around a short loop in my neighborhood, I've already bumped the odo to 7 miles so I know nobody took it for a joyride.

It took me awhile to place the floor mats, pull out any stickers, find the antennae, a couple of mins to set my A2DP audio to play, phone to connect and more than a few mins to get my homelink programmed (you have to have it in the 2nd ignition position ugh!).

On first impression, this car really reminds me of my previous NSX. The cabin is cozy, form fitting and the handling is very sharp and agile.

Thanks to all here for the good info bits.
