Shoot, where do you get a mechanical pencil for .25?!

I actually still wonder if I would have liked the Intuos better? I like that you get the full color/ resolution of your regular display, the Cintiq is not as crisp/ clear as you would think it would be for the price. I also like that you can see the lines as you make them a bit better than when your hand is over the piece. I am adjusting to the cintiq still, but I think there can be plenty of arguments made still as to why the intuos could be considered superior.

I also like the textured feel of the intros even of it smooth over time it feels like paper. So it has me feeling like I have the traction of a traditional pen and pencil set up. But the things I draw are just for fun and usually never anything professional so, I'm happy with it and it was great enough to work with SAI

A Bamboo Capture, If I really find myself dedicating serious time to it and developing my technique I may upgrade to an intuos. Although I think for my needs I'll have more than enough features in the time being.

Currently had sometime during the day so, I decided to work on an original character for a group of friends on DA.

I had to put a lower color res and a water mark for all those copyright WIP all that mumbo jumbo reasons.

Wanted to Submit art here hehe. This is done on SAI, and I forgot how many hours I did because I didn't just sit and do this one.

so I just got the tablet and it is painstakingly hard to use. I can't seem to figure out how to draw well with it, especially in terms of using the pen at the correct angle for input to register, is that normal? How long does it usually take to adapt to this thing?

Any tips for getting the hang of things would be useful.

What do you guys think?

My mom liked it.

My dad laughed at me and told me to draw an RS7 instead...

Took me 3 days to switch from pencil to tablet, but I heard that some people need around a week. I still hate the pen in bamboo though, such a cheap pen.

First check if you have pressure sensitivity, it will make your strokes easier some people plug it in and they don't have pressure,( you can tell if the lines doesn't change to thickness, when you draw or press) and it makes it harder to learn. also look at the screen not that tablet when you draw, some people look down like their drawing on paper. I had a hard time with this, but I guess it may or mat not be an issue for other people. Lastly just practice till you get the hang of it, I think getting used to the software it harder than the Tablet part it self so start off small and it'll come together over time. Stay motivated.

Stoked to find this thread! I guess I'm the resident art guy at the shop, been lucky enough to be involved in some pretty cool projects in the process. Always been an aerosol/graffiti tools medium. All of the photoshop and tablet work here has blown my mind.

Here's some of mine:

So here is the first thing I produced while screwing around with the tablet. Quite frankly it kinda looks like poo, and at times I wondered if I was drawing with a poo since my hand didn't seem capable of producing what I wanted. I am a novice as you can tell based on my ... well everything (just looking at it now I can see that in my rush i forgot to place the body shadow in a direction matching the rest of the lighting -_-'). but that's why I bought this thing, to get better.

Still, the lines come out really jaggy, I had it at 300ppi and 3000x1500 px if I am not mistaken. Any reasons for this?
