I'm nearly anal about clean glass. The cleaner they are (especially inside where they contact the rubber), the more chance they will squeak.

for the rubbers pulling up. I fixed mine by spraying silicon spray at the area that the window was pulling up. It's pretty much gone now

Same deal here. Only when wet and it is loud! It also does it for most of the up/down cycle.
Picked up breakfast the other day at a drive through where the manager had come out to talk to me about the car a few weeks ago while I was pulled forward waiting. I put the window up before pulling out and it was so loud that his head popped up from whatever he was doing and he looked in my direction like, "my God! what's wrong with your car?"

My windows squeak but only when I'm headed to work at 3:30 and it's super cold. Maybe temp has something to do with it? cause any other time of day I get no squeak.

Those pads were explained to me as being the source of the problem for most of the squealing. It was recommended to me to spray the window, inside and out, with wax. Pledge was mentioned. Run the window up and down a few times. Repeat a few times then clean the windows inside and out. This will theoretically impregnate the pads with wax and stop the squealing.

The windows on these cars has been on my nerves for some time now. I have played around with the windows over the year I have had my BRZ and determined that the primary cause of the window streaks or in some cases scratches is the "scraper" seal itself. For those that dont know, the scraper seal is integrated into the black trim you see at the bottom of your window from outside your car. Honestly its just a flimsy flap of rubber with felt on it. I have come to this conclusion because I have seen gaps along this seal in various window positions and like most of you I find moisture in my windows a day or two after a rainfall. If anyone ever looks at vehicles with well designed scraper seals you will find it basically squeegees off any moisture on a window because it is properly sealing against the glass. I also think this moisture passing by the seal is the cause of the freezing windows.

Note that the scraper seal has nothing to do with the weather seal at the top of the window that has been getting deformed or pushed up on some peoples vehicles. I am just concluding that the scraper seal is responsible for moisture related issues.

Hey thanks for the advice! I'll give it a whirl this Friday to see if it helps. My tint is already scratched to hell, but hopefully I could keep the screeching to a minimum.

Mine squeaks after I wash it, generally.I figured it was just due to wetness.

My driver window screams or shrieks as it's lowered. The first time it happened in a drive-thru, I thought it was horrendous brake squeal.

If I wouldn't lose a fortune, I'd just trade it in for a more boring, but refined car. I've lived with the HPFP crickets, but this noise is ridiculous.

I plan to take it in for some kind of repair. If they tell me it's normal for my six-month-old car to do this, I'll post a video to YouTube.

Left windows squeaks when it's wet.

After dealer told me he can't replicate the problem, I never heard the noise again.

Maybe it can go away with more mileage.

I have 40K+ miles on my car.. it still squeaks when the window is wet, ever since I bought the car. No problems mechanically.... yet.
