I like the V12's for a street tire. They're quiet, wear okay, and are pretty cheap.

I haven't tried the Michelins.

When I buy a new set of wheels I'll likely put 595 RS-R's on just because they grip well on the street and they're mad cheap. But I question the need for Max Performance tires on the street on a car that isn't putting down huge power levels. If you're outdriving *Specs (not just driving poorly and killing the tires with understeer) but truly driving them on their limit on the street, you're probably going quick enough that you're going to be hurting majorly if something goes wrong, a deer runs out in front of you, you hit anything/anyone. I'd say most extreme or ultra high performance summer tires are still in that category. There comes a point where unless you're making some sort of emergency maneuver, utilizing more grip on the street becomes questionably prudent.

The PSS are better than the hankooks everywhere. If you can afford them get them.

Quieter, better ride, much better grip.

I've been impressed with my DW's, great tire in between the cost of the hankook and michelin.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I'm trying out BFGoodrich TA KDWs on my new wheels, they're not really a track day tire as they are 300 tread wear vs the 140ish tread wear ratings on some of the tires that have been discussed here. But I don't daily it, it doesn't see rain or snow and BFGs tend to have great dry traction. Only time will tell..

^Solid tires. Loud as all hell though. Grip and grip and grip all day with pretty good wet performance.

Nitto invo are alright too. very comfortable tires but the over all best i've had were the michelin pilot super sports but they are $$$ which is why i recommend the v12's
but your signature gets me every time trying to squash that bug on the screen of my tablet. Damn you, it gets me every time!

Sorry upfront @CSG Mike for being an idiot but do I read the > as a greater than meaning the tyre to the left of the symbol is best going down to the worst or is the > being used as an arrow meaning the tyre to the right of the symbol is better?

I have been thinking about the conti dw as well. It's either them or the Michelin pss which cost about 180 more. How is the ride ,steering response and at the limit handling with them.

Do u think the pss would be worth the extra cash?

That's actually not a dumb question at all! > is a greater than, and the tire to the left is "better" than the tire on the right of the symbol. I may have used more than one ">" when the difference is larger....

I respect your opinion and believe that you go through many tires...but the OP is a poseur. Your track experience, while valuable, has nothing to do with his situation. IMHO, anyway. Regardless, thanks for the knowledge.
