This is why I have abandoned the Thorn bounty, twice. I just don't have the patience to do that much Crucible playing. I'm a quarter way through the Bad Juju bounty right now and it feels like it is taking forever and you don't even get penalized for dying with the Bad Juju bounty.

Eh I have aetheon's epilogue so its not bad at all really. I just don't have the time to raid, daily AND crucible.

So crucible takes the back seat. Especially since I don't even want thorne :P Hawkmoon > Thorn. But maybe after the buff it will be beast.

That possibility is the only reason why I am doing the bounty.

I agree and I'm still not really happy that the bounties have a Crucible element tied to them because if nothing else, the rest of the game is already time consuming enough. I understand that they didn't want to make them "easy" but in a way it's almost on the verge of ridiculousness. Or maybe I'm just whining cause I suck at the Crucible.

From what I understand, as it is now it'll two shot someone because of the dot. But I think it has a fairly small magazine and reload takes forever.

I dropped the thorn bounty twice when I got to crucible. I have other friends that finished it in a few hours.

I also have the Thorn bounty and have put it on the back burner. I'd like to finish it but I agree the crucible part feels forced. They should give alternative objectives so those who do/don't like PVP can follow a path they enjoy.

Well, I think putting the PVP objective in there is a good way to say "if you want this you're going to have to go all out and play the whole game" which is fair IMO. But I think that the bounty itself is a bit imbalanced because it favors warlocks and titans, and for those that aren't great at pvp the punishment for death is awful.

The key thing for the Thorn bounty PVP part though is to make sure you secure the kills no matter which weapon you use. A kill without void damage is worth zero points, yes. But forcing yourself to use a void weapon in a situation where you can't win with one means you're going to lose points, which is worse than no gain.

Good points, I guess the most frustrating part is the harsh penalties you mentioned. The other weapons are more fair, for instance the one requiring 10,000 points or something (can't remember exactly), that was a grind but at least you could constantly make forward progress which was nice. I think I'm just gonna sack up and PvP away with my Warlock until it's done. If only I had Atheon's primary, it'd be done in a day, lol

I, too, have the Thorn bounty. I didn't think it would be easy until I was looking through my vault and saw a Light/Beware with nice stats that does Void damage. About 5 crucible matches later, I'm up to 200+ points. I'm hoping to finish it in a day or two.

Off topic. On my 4th and 5th raid on normal, I manage to snag both Atheon's Epilogue and Vision of Confluence. I'm a happy camper.

Yep, same thing happened to me. Have done it multiple times now and finally got some leg armor the other night.

I've done it twice and hadn't finished, but each time got a piece of gear I needed, gloves and chest, sounds like I got extremely lucky... If only I can get boots I'll hit lvl 30 pretty quick.
