well..

if putting on a strut bar is enough to affect the feel of the front, then it is actually very functional..

perhaps you've set your car up in a way that ended up factoring in the front deflection, so when you suddenly stiffen it up the motion dynamics change at the tire level.

if this was stock class, I would say that the natural spring of the chassis is a net benefit to your grip, but if you're given almost carte blanche at suspension setup then I'd suggest to aim for as stiff a chassis as possible and set up the suspension accordingly....

nay?

I wound tend to agree with you, however, In my experience with Strut bars.. The front is overkill because of said bindup... I have experienced that first hand. the Firewall is part of the structural and integral part of a street car. Stiff as possible is not necessarily the goal, as a Working suspension, to me, is just as important.. Without the Strutbar, the suspension is allowed to operate as designed.. Now I am not saying you can't stiffen up the whole chassis.. but it has to be uniform (Cage) for it to be beneficial. Again.. my opinion.. To put it into perspective... The Turn-in on the twins are awesome, as designed, if you mess with the balance of that, then you must have adjust-ability to ensure the turn-in balance is maintained.

^^^^ this.. after we learn your alignment... What spring rates are on the car.. KW changed at some point from a 7/6 to a more conservative 6/5 ??? I think.. most of us are on Square Rates.. Theres a couple of ways to loosen it up. a bigger Rear Bar is one way.. another way is up the rear spring rate.. and finally.. crank up the rear rebound. But alignment/ride height is a good place to start...

A while back it was unclear whether a 245 or a 255 wide tire would be advantageous in the STX-class. Has this riddle meanwhile been solved or is there no answer (the answer is track and weather dependent)? What tire size are most STX-competitors running?

And a side question: A 15" rim could be an option, if the rim wasn't touching the tie rod end. There is no such thing as a flatter tie rod end, or is there?

Both 245/255 is what I have. I have 255's in the Feds and Z2's.. 245's in the Kooks.. I think 245's should be sufficient to run.. The Fed don't come in a 245.. sooooo only the 255's are available. Z2's are 255 as that is what I used last year with no issue. 245 Hankooks are the lightest of all 3. and they provide as much grip as the others in that size. If you aren't doing National level stuff then 245's should be fine.. I have to plan for different surfaces so thats why I have 3 sets of tires.. LOL.. each provide their own level of confidence depending on the weather, surface and how I am driving for the day..

Sorry for the change of topic...

What are you all using for camber plates? I currently have MSI, but they have a rather tall stack height forcing me to run the spring perches almost all the way down my Tarmac 2's.. and I'm not even very low at all.
25.675 fender heights all around.

I'm running the Ground Control top hats which allow for a lot more bump travel.
