Handling is great, the wider opening achieved is promising to be a great help during maintenance. However, if forced to find one imperfection it'd be the stopper at max extension: that could have been somewhat softer.

BTW I've experienced the issue w/ the lower bolts, too.
Felt like the threads were being milled off. I just stopped fastening when it seemed appropriate but new bolts might be a good idea as a long-term solution...

What do you guys at GrimmSpeed think about using some Loctite? Might be a general security option worth mentioning in your guides?!
Thanks Basti, I'm going to do a little bit of testing with the new bolts and loctite. I was never as concerned with the bolts backing out (vibration and movement of the bracket haven't been a concern so far) as much as I was having an adequate clamping force to prevent rotation of the bracket long term. I might be able to do some accelerated testing, and might add an addendum to the install guide.

Glad to hear your kind words about them, thank you very much!

If anyone missed my post from yesterday, we have received new lower bracket bolts if you require them. Look up a couple of posts for details.

Sure thing, the guys at the factory seem to have relied on the paint primer to be a substitute for Loctite.
My primary concern was w/ the nuts connecting the ball joints to the brackets, though. In my experience such connections just love to come loose over time, especially if the main force they experience is perpendicular to their axis.
Also, I'm just THAT cautious

The bolts arrived in short order. They definitely complete the look and have a secure hold on the lower assembly. As always, GrimmSpeed is an exemplar of quality service. Thank you!

Just sent the email for the new bolts. Once again, you guys rock. I love these hood struts. I got a friend who has a FR-S and he is wanting these struts too.

I've received both the bolts and the warranty struts (in much better packaging!) as of yesterday. I will update after I inspect the struts and again after installation, which may not be for a bit since temps dropped back to normal this week.

I'm loving these hood struts! Thanks Grimmspeed! Not only do they look great and make work in the engine bay easy, they work great! Smooth as butta! Highly recommend a set.

That is great news, I'm thrilled you're happy with them. Now make sure to add an "m" to our name in your modlist ;P

Happy Friday everyone. Maybe I'm working on a new BRZ/FRS part, maybe I'm not...

Alright, I am.

This might not be the ideal spot for this post but it's certainly full of loyal customers?
Just a suggestion for something that might be suitable for Grimmspeed to make?
The chrome window surround and door handle which I think look very classy.

I think Grazio & Co already does an excellent job making that part, and we would have nothing to offer on top of what they have already done as far as innovation goes.

But this thread is as good as any for suggestions for new products, or you can PM us if you'd like, that's how many customers choose to do it. We love ideas, especially from our customers
