Yeah, despite my vacuuming, if I shine a bright light at the headliner I can still see the Buttonwillow dust!

So... only one person going to NCRC at the start of August? Nobody going to Laguna Seca at the end of July?

As far as Laguna goes, those midweek ones can be hard to get time for. Also, I don't really want to spend a vacation day for Laguna :p

Sonoma on the other hand has places where a mistake will probably put you into a wall, though it has some crazy awesome features (the Carousel is awesome and it has really well done esses). Buttonwillow you might be able to get away with doing on your own the first time (I did), but I would recommend going with one of the well regarded marquee clubs first. The main benefit of going with marquee clubs is that they have in-car instruction for newbies (at least PCA does). I'm not saying that Buttonwillow doesn't have places that can eat a car, it just doesn't have as many and they are not as hungry.

True. Laguna Seca is a bit boring if you're not chasing someone, but the fun factor is still there. It's a good intermediate track compared to t hill and sonoma - where you just need to hit your apexes. It's still a pretty forgiving track compared to Sonoma, where a mistake will really make you regret it. I really like Sonoma but too bad not many clubs has events there.

That said I think T-Hill with the five mile has probably risen above Sonoma on technical terms, the new two mile section is truely fantastic; I just hope it isn't too much for beginners.

I'll be there Saturday to run the 5 mile. Three people that I talked to - S2000, GTR, 997 GT3 Cup - all said the new part is super tight and very tricky. There are some blind turns and you reall have to set up your corners like Sonoma. The high power cars will struggle because some of the turns are so slow, they pretty much had to park it.
We'll see how I do. It'll be interesting. Quote:
