Just finished this project last night. Still needs carpet, paint, and a better wire tuck, but it's functional! It'll be used for iRacing, DIRT Rally (PC), and FM6 (Xbone)

Saw that on oppotalk this morning

Pretty awesome.

Anybody else pondering the new NVIDIA cards? I'd not be investing in AMD right now.

The new cards look pretty good. I imagine they're built for 1080p. Hence the name 1080! Sorry 4k gamers, comeback next year

Why?

AMD is coming out with new cards this summer.

Anyways the new "founders edition" cards are a joke and just a way for Nvidia to screw buyers out of more money.

I dont like to support companies that pull petty crap like that.

AMD probably cannot match this performance. I'll be surprised if they come close. This is a stunning jump in speed. 1080 may be in the name, but there is nothing limiting these cards to 1080p. From the look of things, they'll run 4k all day. Plus they use 1/3 of the power of the current gen cards.

As for founders, or whatever it is, I don't care. Not even a bit. I was thinking of buying a 1080p projector. Now I'm thinking of the 65" oled 4k displays.

I had a 970 but I was constantly getting let down at 1440p. Fallout 4 would drop as far as 30 frames. So I did what any irresponsible adult would do, and bought a 980 ti!

That thing rocks though. I have yet to run into any problems with it.

I have not tried running Fallout 4 yet on my new setup. I will try that tonight. But I had the 970 in my 9590 amd setup and when I switched to the new intel skylake setup I did I jumped on average 20fps in many of the games I was playing.

not jumping on the new cards just yet since I'm cheap, but microcenter has 970's for $230 after rebate - ended up ordering one to replace my 660

If you leave the computer on 24/7, differences in power usage can add up to a lot of money. I don't want to have to replace my power supply. Oh fun stuff. Going to see if I can get the GTX 460 to run Fallout 4. The PC market may be tanking, but I'm looking at upgrading... 5 years after the last time.
