No this is way bigger. Think of it as a wagon Corolla aka Matrix.

It looks boring just like all but one other Scion model. However, load it up with tech and electronic gadgets and the young buyers will eat it up. The majority of them do not want a performance car they just want a a connection hub on wheels.

At first I thought this means the xD will be killed off. But than I did some research and founded out the xD = subcompact and Auris = compact.

The Auris is basically a Corolla hatchback only sold in Europe. They have a wagon variant called the Auris Touring Sports.

The Auris nameplate was born when they decided that Corolla was too damn boring (before the Auris, Corolla's were sold as hatches in Europe) so they thought to differentiate with the new name. Of course the car was still a Corolla and probably drove like a Corolla so that didn't help its reputation of being dull and boring.

so no its not a yaris, its not even as small as a yaris. Its a Corolla hatchback. doesn't make sense to me to bring that over as a Scion when it can easily replace the Matrix or just be called a Corolla hatch (the interiors are almost identical)

They also sell it in Japan and Australia except for the touring wagon.

I like it. It reminds me of a Rav4 wagon.

I'll bet you could find a salvaged S2K and drop the drivetrain into your GS-R...

Or just make the GS-R RWD with a CRV trans and AWD Integra (JDM had an AWD model for a few years) rear running gear.

I mean, that might work. Would that let you keep the engine? I imagine you've done some engine work to it, since it's a dedicated track car.

A friend of mine at a previous base built an engine for his civic. It was a K24 block with a K20 head, plus a turbo. It had the torque of a 2.4L, but the VTEC and higher redline of the K20. With a conservative tune he was putting down about 300 whp, and it was a beast on the track. Fair amount of torque steer though.

CRV = b series so engine would stay.

My car is mostly back to stock power wise since I had intended to sell it. I'm building a new trans now (carbon synchros, ITR gearing, LSD), hytech header will be installed when I'm less lazy (have to cut and weld a new flange on the exhaust for it to work). Has a bling Mugen intake. Everything else power wise is stock right now. Stupid thing has 5-8% leakdown numbers and great compression otherwise I would have torn it apart and rebuilt it by now but it's hard to justify when the engine is so healthy still at ~180k.

Honda's motors are pretty stout. Even without tearing it apart, you could probably put on a centrifugal supercharger at low PSI and get a decent boost in power without negatively affecting the reliability. I'd want to have all the supporting stuff like fuel injectors and exhaust done first though, just to be safe.

Eh, I like NA builds on these. I can easily get 180whp on OEM internals, even on GSR cams. 190whp (with a much fatter midrange) is easy with bigger cams.

Race car is putting down 172/131 on all OEM internals, OEM header, OEM intake (well the filter is a K&N), OEM GSR ECU, OEM cams, OEM gears so no tuning there either. Just bored a little, shaved a little, balanced. Takes 4inlbs of force to rotate the bottom end of that motor.
