The only fail/front wheel drive cars worth owning are people movers like Mazda3's, Toyota Matrix, and the like.

I've seen several videos now of FRS/BRZs with superchargers, suspension, BBKs and tires who setting lap times that are still slower than my 120hp CRX.
Most folks who use the term "fail wheel drive", usually aren't fast... in anything.

DC2 Integra Type R is probably the best handling FF car ever created. I won't even consider anything else when it comes to FWD.

No FWD car was considered...the only other car ever considered was a Mazda Miata, but I really don't like convertibles, so there is no real alternative to the FRS. If I did get a miata I would had to have modified it with rollbar, removed all the ragtop components and permanently install a hardtop, and get racing seats to fit comfortably in it....
I don't mind FWD cars...the only I'd want to have though is a DC2 ITR... Integra's can be quite the handling machine, but still not better than RWD to me.

i think the conception that fwd automatically means the car cant be sporty and the fact that there is a direct relation between weight and performance (between two separate platforms) are the most frequently propagated topics by those internet parrots. i think its a little ironic that people are on a forum for a car that is so reliant on the way it feels and not on singular stats and can confidently write off cars they have never experienced based on a singular point.

I was looking at the 2014 Civic Si but I had to be honest with myself, that car is pretty common, mainly because there are Civics everywhere Si or not so I feel like I wouldn't stand out. Now with the FRS/BRZ those cars stand out and just look a hell of a lot sexier than the Civics.
I think the reason why I feel like Civics will be regarded at just "Civics" at least in my area is mainly because there are LX and EX civics and then you have the Si Civics at the end of the day at least for me I'd just be like "Oh, it's just a civic" Like how the Mustangs have the V6 and then the GT V8 and then the GT500s they're so common that I feel like they're just going to seen as just "Oh it's just a Mustang" because its so common GT or V6. Correct if I'm wrong or something but that's just how I feel, I love Civics and I always have loved them but I didn't like how common they were. If you see so many Civics in a day it kind of just loses the effect of that "WOW" |

I was looking at the 2014 Mazda 3 GT, around the same price range with all the luxury i need. The fuel efficency with non premium gas is a bonus haha. In the end, i opted out for the BRZ because im in my early twenties, and i could always drive a nice sedan later in life. YOYO. You're only YOUNG ONCE.

I actually went through a similar process. Months ago I had my eyes on a Mazda 6. dat gas mileage. I love the way they look. They're sportier than even an Accord or Fusion (or any other midsized sedan) Then the Fiesta ST. Still practical, but a lot more fun. I've always liked hatchbacks. But you guys think our wheels choices are bad with 5x100? The Fiesta has a 4x108 bolt pattern ![]() I was smitten with the 86 when I saw production pictures crop up 2.5 years ago. My brother suggested to me to take a look at one. I test drove the FR-S and the Fiesta ST back to back and was sold. The torque in the ST was nice. But my previous car had 300 lb/ft of it at low RPMs and I don't miss it that much.

I was considering going used not long before I bought the 86. I was going to go in this direction, purely because I miss my old one
1999 SAAB 9-3 Viggen: ![]() Ass load of torque from the 2.3t, great gas mileage.. cheap to pick up.. great potential for power, and even better: used motors are cheap. Super comfy leather bucket seats. Awesome luxury for the price. Oh and excellent safety rating... I still want one |

I bought my FRS because i had grown out of FWD. Came from a MKV GTi, which I loved, but it was time to move onto RWD.
I thought of buying a 12yr old 911 or something for 20k, but realized that it would be cheaper and smarter in the long run to spend 5k extra for the FR-S and not worry about crippling repair/maintenence on a 12+yr old DD. I'll save that one for a garage car. For now, i'm just loving my weak little sports car! |
