Now that TTL push the price over $25k I'll keep my WRX a little while longer and put the rest of what I had allotted for a down payment into my 260Z. I'll wait for a Release Series in a more interesting color, check what a used red one is going for at the same time, and get whichever of the two is best for me at the time.

Also, if Subaru really is pricing it at "about $25k", that'll be bad for Scion and their Pure Pricing once initial demand has equalized--we'll be able to talk a BRZ down below FR-S no-haggle prices...

Another also, I think it should be a Toyota. Yes, it's the same car no matter what badge is on it, but Scion is meant to be a gateway drug to get people into a Toyota dealer for their next new car. Where does one go in the Toyota lineup when they graduate from an FR-S? The only non-4-door car they sell is a Yaris... Maybe the FR-S will get so many ladies, your next car will need to be a Toyota Beigemobile, because all the action you've gotten means you now have 4 kids?
They want you to go to a lexus...a lexus LFA...oh wait they won't be making anymore of those by the time you graduate from the FR-S....hopefully there will be a Supra out by the time you graduate from the FR-S...but it will probably be a Scion SR-S (Supra RearDrive Sport) by the way Toyota is treating us North Americans....

Anybody who is dumb is enough to pay over MSRP for the Scion or even a BRZ is just well dumb....And anybody who is dumb enough to put down a non-refundable deposit is well also dumb.

There are a lot of books out there that tell you how to buy a new car.

Don't get taken. This car is not worth extra money over MSRP you will never get back. This car is not a Ferrari or Lamborghini....it's just a Scion....

Isn't LV Subaru the only Subaru dealer in LV and the next closest one is in Arizona? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Definitely walked away from there, considering the closest one is selling at msrp. Pretty ridiculous that they'd jack it up....but that dealership is pretty terrible anyway.

$1200 would certainly cover a one-way plane ticket and gas across multiple states.

The dealers here seem to be playing what we get is what you get to choose from.....one dealer is even doing $500 non-refundable deposit / MSRP + $1200.

pure price what?
My local dealer took my refundable deposit and told me the same thing. What ever they get in their initial allotment is what I have to choose from. The choice of cars will be given in order of the folks that put down deposits. He didn't mention anything about a markup and I don't think they will mark it up. My dealer actually called me today and finally confirmed the price that was announced back on like the 22nd. Poor guy seems not get any information in advance. He also told me that pure price means that what ever the car is listed for on the Scion web site is the price I will pay. Hopefully there will be no markup.

Civics are 4k cheaper because Honda plans to sell 4 times as many. Also, rwd is more expensive. S2000 wasnt exactly cheap ($34k base msrp) compared to this tho the FRS will sell more.

Im definitely getting an FRS once it comes out. I'll also pick up as much TRD parts as possible. Price doesnt worry me, I just want a fun daily driver that I can autocross.
