I doubt it's going to happen.. And if I understand the laws right.. It doesn't matter anyways, replacing the cats are against the law, UNLESS, the new cat is more efficient then the cat it's replacing.. As in reduces the emissions.. But even then here in C.A.R.B. land there is paper work and all, with select vendors selling two versions of the cat.. C.A.R.B. and regular.. They could spend big $ and get it C.A.R.B. certified..

That said, when I had my truck emission tested, he never looked at my exhaust, it was all aftermarket, from when I lived in Illinois at a auto shop and had a nice magnaflow cat, all 4 of the stocks where taken off and sold for the price of the full exhaust, and still passed emissions by a very good amount.. And that's all he cared about..

I would be suprised if there wasn't, I havn't had a set of headers to date that did not cause CEL

I used one of these on my Lancer...

This mechanical extender installs where your second O2 sensor is located. It is designed to modify voltage in such a way as to avoid "CEL" due to a header

Figured at much. Around here they just throw a tool onto the ODBII port and run the car at 3k RPMs and see if it throws any codes. A tune could remove the codes, so I guess I will need to save up some more scratch later on this year.

I was hoping for it to sound a little better, IMO. I'd like to hear it with Perrin's resonated system.

They are suppose to check everything here, intake, exhaust, hook up the OBDII all of it.. Run it at start up, at idle, and 3k I think.. I was very very close on start up to failing, but the car sat for 45 mins, if he would've jumped right on it when I got there I'm sure it would've been much better.. But in the end I still passed lol

I like the burble it makes.. But it does sound really raspy and "ricer-ish" maybe.. Like that's what I hear around here with the civics and cavaliers with no cat and a autozone muffler.. I'd like to hear with a cat.. I'm not against it yet.. I know how much a cat can change things

Again, we are not done testing. Unfortunately, we are getting hit with an ice storm and we most likely will not have the car out for the next few days.

Cheers!

As soon as we can get the car back out after the ice storm we have an Invidia catted front pipe we will toss on it. You can see in the in car video just how little grip the car has with the Star Specs on it. Constant traction control.

Our exhaust does a great job of that which is used in both videos. Before and after.

I will be installing this header I've just been a little hesitant to order with the moving target of a ship date.. Once they know 100% I'm placing the order. I will def post videos so you can hear the setup and once everything is installed I will tune and dyno and I will post the results.

Thanks man!
