Plasti dip dash panel

It's not cost as much as time, if you do it yourself. You can get a good piano black finish with decent spraypaint. It just takes a lot of coat and a ton of sanding of the color layer and a nice hard clear that you can also wetsand/polish.

I'd probably use an epoxy paint or other type that dries nice and hard. Easier to sand those. Some basic spray enamels are forever tacky.

i've never actually done that before is there any brands of paint/ clears you would reccomend for this? is it from those rattle cans cause i dont really have a spray gun/ pump possibly a nice diy would be nice haha~

I'd have to do the research myself to really tell you. I haven't done anything like that in ages.

I do know that Duplicolor's spray paints sold in car parts stores tend to be harder drying. The engine enamel is TOUGH if you bake it at around 250F for a while. I don't know how the plastics would hold up to that though.

i think i would avoid baking since i doubt these plastics can hold high heat~~ Its used for cost savings so i doubt Toyota/ Subaru would use expensive materials last thing i want is for them to crack up and stuff ;(!!!! hmm i think i might just prime it and maybe use some rustoleum gloss black and then finish with some clear coat of sorts~ hmm i dont know if i should use wet sanding tho or if that would make it more" GLossier"?

how do you guys paint plastidip without the bubbles forming? mines always look rough.

do it in light layers and many layers when spraying dont stay still on one spot spray starting off the part and then move over the part and then off~~ haha then let it dry and go at it again

No, but running some stripes on brothers focus in spring time.


I buy actual plasti dip, thin it and spray with hvlp gun. Works awesome.

How long has the Plasti-dipped like this lasted so far

Jarumie42172 - Did you just regular white plastidip?

I am planning on doing it that this weekend and am complete newb to anything with the interior but it's worth a shot. I'm thinking of doing 5 or 6 coats of white. I've seen pics of people with the white interior instead of the silver and it's beyond beautiful to me.
