I did notice yesterday at AutoX I had a lot more wheel spin than normal on launch, but my RS-3 are also near the ware bars...

No CEL, engine runs fine as and I can get the gear box into any gear fine. Just tons of girding noise from the rear when you try to engage the clutch in any gear. It was 100 out today so I sat it in for two hours with the A/C running to keep cool waiting for the tow.
It could be a axle, mine made all kinds of noise when it broke.

Keep us updated.

Impressed with the amount of use it took to fail. Whatever broke that is.

Good luck with the warranty. Scion seems way cooler about replacing stuff than douche-aru.

Here's my warranty story contribution. I worked at BMW when the mini cooper and cooper S cars came out owners quickly started modifying them. One cooper S has (factory supercharged). Had a smaller pulley, exhaust, intake, suspension, tie bars, gauges, and ecu chips. Well he popped his head gasket. BMW did it under warranty and cleaned his head up. Also when they had camber plates and would bring in aftermarket tires we would align the car properly. And then they would get a free hand car wash inside and out. Bada Bing.

Yes, I would say it could also be this.

Hopefully it's just an axle and any work is done under warranty.

A diff breaking after 50 autox is pretty worrisome IMO. That's not very durable. I hope Scion covers it under warranty.

One reason that driving a Porsche appeals to me greatly is that they embrace owners taking their cars to the track and their are almost always involved in the PCA track events. It's a rarity for an automaker to stand behind a product when it's used as intended. It is sad that such a thing isn't more common.

I remember when Subaru was giving out SCCA memberships if you bought a wrx.

I do as well. And (correct me if I'm wrong) they were voiding warranties of owners' cars if they had proof you had autoxed them.

This was a discussion we always had back in the early S2000 days but what diff fluid were you using? Did you do higher rev launches for your autox starts?

UPDATE: Broken axel not diff.

They are calling in a field rep because "the car is lowered and overall vehicle condition is low" LOL. So I've got a feeling they are gonna try to deny the warranty claim.

*sigh..... wow.. I better get a couple of spares just in case. :/ interestingly.. they are all going around the same time period.... Subaru Had issues with the 04 STi as well breaking axles.. hence why they went to the 5x114.3 bolt pattern and the stronger hubs in 05.
