Because by picking ANYTHING different from what the rest of the community recommends as a byproduct of experience, he gets to pretend he secretly knows something we don't, when it's really just dumb luck. This is the dumbest way to inspect brake pads. Why? You’re only looking at half of the pads.

Any halfway decent mechanic, DIY or professional, will look at both outside and inside pads during an inspection.

So yes, you’re right. This is a shitty design. Should’ve made the rotors transparent.

In Star Trek IV they gave us the designs for transparent aluminum but Scotty didn't mention anything about transparent steel. Aluminum brake rotors would suck, so we're SOL.

Centric is exactly what he suggested. I'm just pointing out a premium version of the initial recommended centric.

No, there may be a reason to avoid the PQ version of the pad. There is a reason he didn't suggest it in the first place, since the prices are similar. Either he's aware of this version, or he's deliberately avoiding them.

Not really. The pad lays flat.
