Not really, I'm doing what Toyota's highly paid corporate lawyers would do if they get served these types of lawsuits.
This isn't the first nor the last time they will deal with these types of claims by end user, and the more people want to brag about their lives on the internet the harder they will fall once reality hits. Rule one of anything on the web: if you don't want it discovered or traced back to you, don't post about it. The internet never forgets. |

How does OP file suit in California without first going through the required arbitration procedure that applies to all Scion and Toyota warranty issues in California?

I wrote what I did because I wish for someone in the future to search for warranty issues, come across this thread, and have a greater understanding of how warranty works and how public posts can affect your chances of a favorable settlement or outcome. I'm not going this for OP, I'm doing this for everyone else that cares about how the legal system works in the US. -alex |

The underlying lie here is that a new transmission DOES NOT cost 10K. I took my first BRZ to a dealership in the morning and picked it up in the evening with a new transmission. Total cost, $1650, it was under warranty so it didn't cost me a thing.

Nope. I have a part from the dealer showing the transmission at that price. While it's possible that it's what their cost would have been, even at $2200-2500 street price and 10-12 hours of labor, it's still not half of what you're claiming.
I'll bet there's a lot more to your story and you're just trying to get attention. All you're going to get out of this is YouTube views and ridicule. |

Edit: ~$2,300 here before shipping you are correct that it's much lower than the ~$5k others have quoted here. http://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_201...0099AA800.html |

Then I'm sorry. It's clear though that the OP is just trying to get attention...

100K and still have the original fluid, TOB and everything else. No grinding, lockouts, squeaks or any other issue that gets complained about either.
