Be a great place if the teenagers such as yourself are all just supporting each other's pipe dreams. I bet a lot of constructive projects would get completed. Everybody has a voice.

In for pics of the progress of the project. You have no bloody clue as to the experience or cars of the people replying here. None.

If you got over your anger and hatred because I stated I didn't line inline 4 engines you may see exactly how helpful I am.
As far as employment goes you are basing your incredibly wrong statement on zero evidence and are so radically wrong you couldn't get worse.

This is one of the nicest forums I have ever been on and if you would look beyond your own interests you would see that. Just because we don't always hold hands and sing kumbaya doesn't mean we mostly don't get along.
If you want respect, then give it. I've been respectful this entire time, regardless of your shitty attitude. But what do I know? I'm just a new guy on the forums. In reality, I've been lurking around the forums for a while now before I created an account and I've seen the ones who constantly shit post everywhere. And it's the same 3 people who've been shit posting my thread. So I know it's not just me. You all have this "my way or the highway" attitude towards everyone on these forums. I expected it. The only sad part is you 3 proceed to shit post like clockwork just as I figured you would.
Anyways, I'm not here to split hairs about trivial bullshit with some kid who thinks he's a know it all on all things everything since ever. Have fun thinking your cynical attitude is appreciated.

Amen 🙏

Hopefully someone with as much 'knowledge' as Tcoat can actually be constructive with it and help you achieve your goals and complete this build.

I'm not that guy unfortunately, but I'm pulling for you bud.

You didn't lurk well then. If you consider my posts shit posts you didn't read many. I just don't do well with people that are both ignorant and arrogant at the same time.
Oh that is right you are all of 30 years old so I should respect my elders.
If planning out the whole build and budgeting properly is "trivial bullshit" then you are going to fail. That is all I was trying to say. You don't want to listen then don't but do not try to insult us. You can go join Mule in the kumbaya circle jerk for all I care.
Look forward to the build thread it should be a hoot.

Haha, I love Canadians. Yall are a fun bunch. But, yeah, I've read/watched enough step by step tutorials on how to swap a 2JZ into this platform, what to watch for, issues that arise, etc. Can you imagine if you just wanted to google something and google started acting like Tcoat? lol good thing there's a whole world wide web out there full of resources, and better yet, a shop not too far from here that specializes in all things FT86. If I can't find the answer online, I can always just give them a call. TC over there acting like he's got a monopoly on knowledge haha.

My favourite thing about Tcoat is that he only appears to know what NOT to do.

Sure as shit haven't seen much in the way of helpful suggestions...

And it sounds like you have some good resources at your disposal - prove the hater/assembly line worker wrong, no matter how long it takes!

Having a constructive discussion on this forum is very difficult. The issue is lack of moderation and proper rules / structure.

I think you will find that there are almost always more people willing to tear your thread apart than there are people willing to contribute to it.

Tcoat is just a guy, he's not to blame. He's just an example of how much time one person can spend on this forum without being properly moderated. Others will spend very little time and have their threads derailed by that small group of people, and they will leave. Hence why this forum community declines rather than grows.

It's not like a subreddit where there are so many people. You can derail as many threads as you want here so long as you don't break the small list of rules. The mass posters know this well and probably enjoy the fact.

Good luck on your tail lights! If you pursue the idea

For future reference, no one wants accountant advice on how to spend their money. I appreciate your concerns, but leave the accounting to the person who knows how much they can spend. You're not paying my bills so don't worry about it.

Second, I've already researched pricing including shipping details, and you were way off. Excuse me for not letting your misinformation go unchallenged. Not my style.

Third, if you want to raise concerns, don't bother me with irrelevant bullshit like what I'm going to do for suspension. If you actually want to be helpful, why haven't you mentioned the fuel return re-routing issue from an FT86 platform to a 2JZ power plant? Or mention that that transmission tunnel needs to be slightly modified to fit either R154/V160 trannys? These are actual hurdles I'll need to worry about, not if my axles will be fine after swapping in a 325 hp crank engine. I'll gladly accept help and suggestions.. just do it without the attitude and we're golden.

I'm not surprised to learn that this community is shrinking - and I haven't been around very long at all.

I appreciate the insights and will keep them in mind moving forward.

Ouch! Well admin, you heard the boss, let's close down this forum. Let's see how that turns out... for 86/BRZ community. I can tell you one thing from past, a ton of members went bollistic when the forum went down for 2 days... Again ONLY FOR 2 DAYS. Permanently closing the forum, could be fun to see.

I don't remember seeing any other 86/BRZ forum that have more daily activity & resource than this forum. Even Toyota JP sponsored forum have a less than half of active members here and if you don't know Japanese SOL. Automotive forum always comes & goes on member activity. It's nothing to do w how properly moderated, it's a simply by trend of the car. Big wave of members signed up at '09 for FT-86 Concept aka MkI. After that, over an yr of dark age (no legit info), so many members fall away. OG like me & Zaku stayed... then FR-S Concept aka MkIII came and forum got hit w another big wave of members. After several month of no info, a lot member looked into other cars and faded. FR-S/BRZ was release and then BOOM! Another wave of members came in. Just a waves of trend.

If you guys wanna leave, go for it. I won't stop you. Make another 86/BRZ forum that's properly moderated. Facebook 86/BRZ is impossible to keep moderated or even keep compilation of 86/BRZ info. Just repetitive question over and over. Let's see how that turns out, cuz I am VERY interested to see 86/BRZ forum that's more active than this forum and so called "properly moderated".
