Fitting the Sprint kit requires wheels with appropriate offsets to clear the calipers. There's a thread on here where you can see which wheels clears them. I think even Essex website lists some confirmed fitments. Bear in mind that just because a certain size and offset on one type of wheels clears, it doesn't mean it applies to other wheels even in the same size and offset. The spoke design plays a big role in whether a wheel would clear your calipers.
By the way if I were you I'd go for the Sprint kit. It's been developed specifically for our platform and even the hardcore track guys abuse them with success. You'd also get much better support from Essex and this online community since so many others are using the Sprint. |

I don't know much about getting aftermarket brakes approved, apart from being expensive and real pita unless you know people. Anyways I didn't think you'd need hoses specifically made to order locally in order to comply? I thought as long as the hoses are DOT certified they will also meet local standards?

Then again, i doubt a cop is going to ask us to rip apart out brake setup to check for dust boots on the side of the road.

These guys are all over it Jing. The 299x32mm disc in our kit is rather small in the grand scheme of things, but it is an overbuilt beast. Our kit has been on the market two years now, and we've barely sold any replacement discs! We run the same disc in asphalt late model racing on cars that are 2800 lbs. with 400-500 hp. They will handle anything you throw at them and more.
The S2000 wheel offsets are horrible...definitely the most difficult fitment we've done on any vehicle in terms of clearance. There's just no room to work on those cars. The FT86 platform is far better on wheel clearance with tons more room to work and wheel options. Below is the wheel list I've collected thus far, and I know there are many others out there. Competition Friction in your neck of the woods very likely has our Sprint Kit on the shelf. If they don't, they can get you one. We have them built and ready to ship today. Confirmed Wheel Fitment According to our customers who installed this big brake kit, any of the wheels below will without a spacer. Essex cannot guarantee fitment however, so please check fitment using our wheel fit template. Name size offset
Name size offset, spacer thickness
Hopefully that helps.

Off topic, but are the STI Brembo's considered aftermarket as well and requires permit/engineered? Last edited by Fizz; 08-06-2014 at 07:54 PM. Reason: Typo |

http://www.actbrakes.com.au/ The thing I found interesting was I was expecting them to send my original lines to some secret location that would take weeks but I was told they make them on the premises. They were busy that afternoon so they wouldn't be ready until the following day. The STI brakes are not offered by the manufacturer as an option so yes, they have to be engineered.

It is an excellent kit and it doesn't get a second look due to its grey look.
