I'm going to pimp my own personal page for a minute. Go over here to check out me failing at Dixie lol - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...4&postcount=63

Short story: Car was AWESOME and drives as well as @TRev car did at Nationals, drive just needs work. I took 5th (trohpy) and my codriver put 1.3 seconds on the rest of the field and he would have placed 5th in HOTLY contested STX with his final time. I'd argue that my car rivals the best setup CS twins in the country. All I am lacking is a full catback and I'm dead broke. Maybe a vendor that wants a big decal on the car that will likely podium at Nationals (in CS with my codriver and CSL with my other Co) has an extra laying around they want to work out a deal on?

After well setup RX8s and 350zs were left behind, I feel the only the 370z concern me.

Was waiting for you to post on Dixie. You trophy'd so don't beat yourself up to bad. You also showed people that the twins are good. Nissan take this!!!!!!!! Substitute finger.
So now, after further self beating, analyze the videos. Look at your co driver video, find the mistakes, then further analysis will reveal where to improve. Time, time, time. The car is not a be all beat all. So goes the driver. Otherwise we would be calling you Nikki Lauda.
Personally I think your doing great, now this race is history. Concentrate on the next one.
And if you show up at Amelia airport this Sunday, I'm sure you will prove yet again that you can still kick my ass.
I thought you were running a muffler delete.

Haha thanks for the words.

I have the delete but there is that 1-2hp to be found in the midpipie. Also, the highway drone is getting worse, or I'm getting less tolerant of it hahah. Delete has been on the car now since December 2012. It sounds AMAZING at WOT but on the road it's less than perfect..

My next big race isn't for 2 months and I'm afriad my tires will be getting weak by then. Locals are alright but the layouts are nowhere NEAR as good as these big courses like Strano and Vivek make.

That is something that I am going to have to plan for. I was just getting over a bad cold so couldn't be there this wknd. Well then rest, save the budget, analyze( I do hate that word) set up for the next race.
The biggest thing to remember, DIXIE IS HISTORY.
If you just have to have something, I have my 2.5 Perrin I could let you use. Anything is possible.

Don't get hung up on 1 HP here and 1 HP there... it's all noise quite honestly. As your codriver Mr. Hughes just pointed out for you.... you've got over 3% time you can find behind the wheel before you need to spend another penny

Great job both you guys this weekend, it's easy to scoff at a trophy beyond the podium spots, but consider it a good start to a long season! It's the trophy in September that means the most.

Install of the Bilsteins was extremely smooth, perfect fit, can't compliment the fit and finish of them enough. As for the feel, I ran in the local autocross that weekend and finished 10th out of about 130 or 140 in the PAX, before I was in the same ballpark, maybe 15 or so with slightly fewer cars. Now, I have to remind that I also had new 225 ZII's installed for this event as well. I didn't get everything out of the car and the feel was noticeably improved from the stock shocks and the older 215 ZI's I was previously running. The car felt very predictable and more stable than with the stock shocks.

I can say that during daily driving the car feels more of the bumps in the road than before, but the rebound feels more consistent than stock if that makes any sense. The real test will be the end of this month at the College Station National Tour with some fast CS competition. I'll have a chance to get a better feel that Friday at the TnT, so I hope to at least get a feel for the setup against similar Twins on Konis.

I want the exhaust more for the highway drives than the HP, that's just gravy lol. I don't have the pennies to spend right now or I would have already. Paying some stuff down.

Understood, your initial comment made it seem like you wanted it for the HP gain. I was actually thinking of going the other way... I'm waiting on my nameless axleback to arrive, but thinking it'd be nice to have a track pipe for that little extra weight savings. How have you been on sound with the track pipe? Like you mentioned though, I wouldn't be able to stomach a track pipe on a daily basis.

It's quiet on the outside, well under 95dB limits some places have. It just drones badly between 55-59. It's seems louder than before at 70+ now too, which gets annoying. Though I do enjoy being the only BRZ I've ever see with an oval tip, not round

If anyone cares, with 1/4 tank of fuel and ~10lbs of junk in the glove box, my car set at 2613lbs this weekend

That's a lot of junk for the glovebox!

Have you tried filling the trunk with some blankets or anything like that? I found running the muffler delete in my GR STI the amount of noise in the cabin was much better with the trunk floor on than off. Wonder if the BRZ would benefit the same way.

Holy crap! My pinch flange slipped off the jack and I popped the underside of the fender with the jack and my dent isn't ANYWHERE near that bad.

For whatever it is worth, I run a delete and I never notice it on the highway. I drove to Nationals and back with it last year and it never bothered me. Wind noise and tire noise mask the exhaust noise. It is loud around town, but I like it for the cost and weight savings.

Thanks, that does help. Have you ever checked your dB levels at any events, any ones that were cooler with a low cloud ceiling?
