The Road and Track First Look has been posted online. Short version, they are grading it good because they know Chevy has plans in future versions to be great, but they aren't so sure about the transmission.

Nothing lazy about it. Plenty of demand for in your face muscular sedans with personality. Not everyone wants a FWD 2.0T Accord, ya know?

We need more brash family vehicles with personality (hopped up CUVs don't count).

Lazy in terms of driving dynamics not speed. I thought the Accord had better feed back than the the challenger/charger's I drove. Great engines though, just wish they were in a better chassis.

I knew somebody would respond this way. And, I can't argue with what you accept as a sports car. I should give GM the credit that they have successfully merged muscle and sports car forms. Still, my personal preference would be C7 over Camaro. I can't look past their differences.

It is funny that he compares the car to cars that are much more expensive. Yes, it doesn't have a Ferrari flat-plane 8.5k revving engine or the quality of a $110k Porsche, and it doesn't cost that much; that is the value proposition, and I guess that is his point, that this car has maybe 85% of the car for half the cost, but it isn't equal, and it doesn't need to be.

Has a sound clip of the 5.5L flat-plane V8 been posted yet? Super exotic.

A comparison of the 911 and C8, kinda really bothers me that they built in understeer, but the Vette's of old were notoriously snappy on the limit, so maybe some safety to boost confidence is needed. Hoping that it disappears with the more sporty models.

I think all of these reviews are predicated on the fact there will be a Grand Sport/Z06 and everyone is waiting for those.

It just occurred to me that with those big rear fenders and their shape, someone at some point will be driven to give the Corvette a '57 Belair paint job....
