Should be interesting though to see considering the huge price and complexity difference. |

If I were an unusually smart, family oriented kind of guy, that liked to do neat stuff, but not get bogged down in the details.. I might develope and begin the growth process of a new idea or concept, then flip it to a company with big resources, for just a few million$$! ![]() Kind of like that guy that did SpaceX, and those really cool new electric cars... whats his name? ![]() |

Ok. Let me preface this by saying that no laws were broken, and that everything was done on a road that was closed so no one could get hurt except for two idiots.
Video: Im exporting the video now. I will send it to Fenton or someone else to upload, so as to avoid any issues... if you catch my drift. Meh: Here it is: [ame]http://youtu.be/9xvBfkNHPyI[/ame] Ok so what we are comparing here is the rotrex setup by Kraftwerks and the Phantom 1.5 dump pack and aux charger. Both cars were running e85 and were tuned. My BRZ was using Shiv's OTS tune that he just released and the other guy was using a tune by Delicious. I want to start off and say that I love my Phantom, and that a lot of what is going to be said is in that guise. I can't help but be a little partial to my setup. The temperature right now in San Diego was around 85 degrees Fahrenheit, and I have to say the Phantom was performing flawlessly with the aux charger. I easily did 20+ pulls back to back to back to back, and I did not trip a single thermal sensor, and I never needed to wait for a recharge. Holy crap Rob this setup is kick ass. Now for the results...... Like we all expected down low the Phantom destroys the Kraftwerks it wasn't until third gear and approximately 4000 rpm (I'll let you figure out that speed) that the other guy catches up and proceeds to pass me. I was really surprised. I expected the kraftwerks to smoke me all the way, but the Phantom holds its own. Now this was from a stand still, and the video shows two runs. So you can see this for yourself how it looks. But before I continue I will say I LOVE the way other guy's car drives. There is so much fricking power in the top rpms, and it sounds like a fighter jet. However these two systems are almost polar opposites. I have gobs of power down low, and he has it up top. Its not until third gear that other FI setups show their grunt. First and second gears are so quick that the Phantom can probably win most battles in the lower range. However up top they win hands down. I know the other guy is running approximately 10 psi, and probably easily pushing 300hp, and us "lowly ebay electric supercharger idiots" (couldn't help myself) are keeping up and kicking ass. Now on a racetrack.... yeah the Kraftwerks will probably win hands down, but for price point, ease of install, performance on the street, and just general "futureness" of the phantom I still think its the better choice for most of us. If you are racing or have the money to drop on full time fi, I can now understand your point but I still love my baby more.

This post should find it's way to the top post or beginning of this thread in some form. It really shows what so many of us Phantom owners know. The current max setup is no joke on the street and probably better than expected on a tight track or drag strip. Good stuff. |

Full throttle Electric Supercharger Build Thread
I agree with Sojhinn. I'm very happy with my setup (with be even happier when I get a couple of bugs worked out). Car is a beast. It does take RPM to spool up but the power delivery, even on partial throttle, is linear ramping up to a great push back into your seat. The phantom, however, launches very strong down low, getting a jump on a traditional setup like mine. Two different beasts that are both a blast to drive. I still say that the Phantom is a better value for a DD but I can't wait to get the KW to the track
![]() Oh, and not to make excuses, but remember I'm an auto and therefor besides a little brake-start, I have a hard time launching.
