It's a fun car but I found it was a jack of all trades, master of none. Overkill for daily driving to work and back...to have any fun you need to be well above the posted speed limits and it wasn't the greatest track car; heavy so brakes/tires get expensive and the awd means there's not much driver involvement if that makes sense. Just mash the throttle and the diffs sort it out. Good wakeup call when you move to a light, rwd track car! Gas gets expensive too. If I was to go back to a hatch I'd probably consider the GTi, Focus ST or Fiesta ST. Awd was a blast in the winter but it's not necessary.

I tend to agree what everyone else is saying. Keep the BRZ and drive it all year. Good winter tires and you're good to go.

Add my 2 cents, from an economics point of view, the depreciation is a sunk cost... If you can swing it - drive it in winter! If you live in the country, It would be interesting to test hakkas with studs and a couple of bags of sand. I can report back next year on that set up as thatīs my plan.

Good luck with your decision. Michel

Anybody know of some good black friday sales? (car related)

Simon, I'd say just drive it. Get good snow tires and you'll be ok.
What do you think farmers did 60 years ago without 4x4 and bias ply tires? lol
The only reason mine is away is because it's my first new car and I'd like the underneat to be oil free when I start modding. Don't forget that something like an EVO is actually going to cost you more money in the long run

Any wheel aficionados here?
I want some 17x9 +30. But they're 5x114.3

Obviously I'll need conversion spacers, but I don't want to get screwed and buy the spacers and wheels and it not fit

You'd need adapters so add 20mm at least, which means your wheels will have an effective offset of +10 or lower.

Won't fit or it will look like this:

Get small converting spacers and you should be fine. I think the smallest you can find is 15? or 11mm? Not sure.

You're gonna poke out about an extra 6 cm, compared to stock. (If you go with 15mm spacers)

FT86 SpeedFactory has 15mm spacers.

How do I figure out the camber that I need? I've seen photos of our cars running these exact wheels, so I know it's possible. I just don't want to be running camber that will give uneven wear, or make the car not perform as well. These are pretty much my favourite wheels ever and I really want them

The wheel section has a link to a graphical fitment guide that is pretty good.

A +30 with spacers is going to look bad though.

I saw a B16 Sentra that looked exactly like this on the 417 earlier in the week. Not sure now it made it through Quebec Hellaflush laws.

Factory wheels are 17x7 +48.
Same size wheel in a +15 (assuming 15mm spacers) is going to move whole wheel out by 33mm.

Add 2 inches width to that wheel adds 25mm to each side of the wheel.
So the outside will now be 58mm further out (6cm like AznKirby said), while the inside will be only 10mm further out.

Only the hella-stanced guys are running those kinds of offsets, with lots of camber to pull in the top of the wheel.

For reference, my wheels are 18x9 +35, so a 17x9 +15 will poke out 2cm more. Its gonna rub the fenders.

I love me a good Canadian Tire sale.

My preferred oil is 45% off this week instead of the usual 30-35%.

Just picked up 5x5l jugs. All set for next season.

Quaker State Ultimate Durability 0W20.

I spent a bunch of time on bobistheoil guy and reading spec sheets for different oils and it's got a good rep and numbers.
