Never did nice flat surfaces like that but have put thousands in a down and dirty floor pan/trunk fix to get through a safety check. Not worth welding then bend some scrap sheet to the right basic size to cover the hole, throw in a few dozen pop rivets, cover the whole mess with some nice stick tar and bingo when they try to stick a screwdriver through the floor they can't.

you mean nutsert/blind nut tool rivet tool is a little different. i've got an astra nutsert-er as well. i love it! i use it all over!

Pop riveting is more of an art form that a mechanical action.

not pop rivets. nutserts. a little different in that things can come apart later if needed.


it's like the last mechanical fastening option before welding nuts to surfaces.

Airplane kit actually so really plane parts. The Outer wings are the parts you see. The inner wing runs under the fuselage and is what the outer wings connect to.

In the view below the inner and outer wing join where the extra ribs (6-V1-2) are on the mid-left. The extra ribs make up the wing walk. The part that appears flat is the inner wing, the angled up portion is the outer wing.

Is it strange I'm getting some serious flashback/deja vu from that picture, but can't quite place the situation? It had to have been at college. I think we made a wing section in Aircraft Structures or something. Or a prior class did. Or...
