Good luck everyone.
Yup, those are some great drivers you listed, thanks for mentioning them. My post wasn't meant to be comprehensive, just listed a few of the more commonly known drivers and threw in one under the radar suggestion I hadn't seen mentioned yet. No doubt in my mind that there are people not mentioned yet that have a real good chance at getting the jacket this year.

Ric Quinonez is a good friend of mine. We are local to each other and we race at least once per month. He has been driving at an incredible pace this year and he is definitely in the running. He was the 2nd fastest 86 at Nationals last year and the winner of the SD tour this year. He is on the top of my list when I mentioned there were a few drivers I've been following but wasn't mentioning. Even though we are competing, I will be cheering him on and wishing him the best.

Good luck to all

Nice work! Kyle in his 128i has been very fast all year, so a win over him is definitely worth celebrating.

If you are feeling that way despite winning a Tour and Pro, imagine how the rest of us non-winners must be feeling. Maybe I should lower my expectations.

I saw David Marcus run a local on Sunday, and crush it. Was FTD by seconds. So not betting against him in STX.

I'm pretty sure I was the fastest 86 at nationals in 2014. :P

Haha yeah, competition with Kyle and Gordon has been AWESOME this year. They're both close to me (Gordon is a long-time friend) so they'll definitely be right up there.

Crap, totally forgot about David. Definitely adding him to my list of probables. I got him at the Pro, but not by much, and I was in a car much better prepared than mine haha.

Jonathan,
Thank you for the kind words. What a difference a year makes. Making new friends such as yourself and renewing old friendships like John my
co-driver has been quite an experience. I'm really looking forward to this
years event. One of the best things this year will be bringing a few extra
friends from Fresno for their first time. Just like everyone else Kurt, Kat
and Jimmy will have the time of their lives.

Best of luck to everyone!! Ric Quinonez

Is Paloatta running in CS this year, or something else?

Sports car's You Pick 'em still has him in CS: (EDIT, they changed it)
http://www.scca.com/articles/1997556...eet-categories

Hard to really pick anyone outside of Fenter in CS, and Herbst in STX, but it's tough to Ignore Santell's recent victories against this car. With some help from the slalom gods, and hope that one particular course designer doesn't incorporate brainless WOT slaloms, I have my 86 picks of Santell in STX, and Quinonez in CS.

I'll be there in a Ford Taurus (or equivalent) to get around the paddock.

CS = Fenter
STX = Santel

I'm aiming to do better than I did last year and hoping the car's owner will end up as the top 86. This will be my 2nd Nationals and only my 3rd concrete event ever.

I'll probably hang out with a few friends from the DC region and try to meet some more of the CS crowd. I'd guess we'll all be working the course together too.

Alright guys, quick rules question, just because I want to make sure that I'm totally "legal" for nats.

I'm running in CS, but the same rules should apply to STX.

With regard to the rear cargo area, the rules state:

Quote:
Section 13.2.F. Spare tires, tools, and jacks may be removed. Any fastening hardware
and/or other pieces that can no longer be firmly secured in the absence
of the spare tire may be removed if necessary to ensure compliance
with Section 3.3.3.B.1, Safety Inspection Requirements.
and

Quote:
Section 3.3.3.1.B. Inspection Requirements
1. All loose items, inside and outside the car, must be removed. Hand held
items, such as but not limited to, cameras and cell phones are considered
loose items.
Does that mean that the jack, tools, spare, AND styrofoam pieces and rear cargo mat/tray can all be removed? Or because the styrofoam can technically be secured on it's own and the mat can just lay in the trunk, do you have to leave the styrofoam and trunk mat/tray in the car?

Styrofoam stays. The rest goes. That's my understanding of the rule as it's stated and that's how I've seen people apply it.

The styrofoam is secured by clips so it's not loose, even if it wiggles a little bit.

My two side Styrofoam units will both be removed from the car, the clips broke off about 55 thousand miles ago. I encourage you to protest me.
