Same as me!
Which one of the 13's did you get?
They still have the Lava in the showroom when you were there?

This whole story is par for the course in buying a new car in the Bay Area, fucking unbelievable, they could have saved 3 hours and sold another two cars with the same amount of staff if they didn't fuck around like this, I'll never understand it.

By the way they did the same fucking thing to me on the papers, it's called yo-yo financing, they raised my interest rate (oh sorry, we can't really combine those deals like we did) and then told me they would write me a check for the difference over the course of the loan (they didn't, they put it towards the loan the filthy liars). Only reason I didn't tell them to pound sand (I had a signed contract, deal was done, their problem to make it work) was because I planned on paying off the car in ~1 year so they were handing me free money, otherwise it would have been a losing prospect for the buyer.

I'm never buying myself a car from a dealership ever again.

I had actually read up on that before buying my car, so I was ready. There was a good story on the web (can't find it now) where a guy got that pulled on him, but when to a lawyer and sued the dealer since he had a signed contract for the interest rate initially offered. The dealer towed the car, but the buyer kept making payments. He did all right in the end.

I had to go over my paperwork carefully to make sure they weren't pulling that crap on me. If anything was amiss, I would have told them it's not my problem - I had a signed contract.

I had a pretty below good experience. Went to the biggest toyota dealer in socal apparently and no one even approached me. They didn't have the color i wanted without all that stuff added on it. Went to 3 other dealers ships, emailed a bunch of places, no one was willing to trade cars. Finally when i found my car the only thing we were able to do was negotiate the apr lol.

My experience was all in all good. First went to Toyota to look at one they weren't giving me the time of day unless I was willing to run numbers and ping my credit off the bat. I was in the mountains and stopped to look at one test drove it,but since I didn't have my car I couldn't do anything at the time. So I drove around looking at of places that had them. I drove past Valley Auto World who had one out front. So I stopped to look at it. A week later, I test drove it. 2 days later I brought my 2008 Tiburon up there are traded it in for my Brand New " used" 2015 FR-S. Drove off the lot with 999 miles. Have been happy with it since.

Yours would be the car I test drove then! I even stopped the salesperson from pumping regular gas into it (we barely made it to the station on fumes during the ride).
Mine was the showroom car and they still have it's picture with all the TRD options on it posted in the showroom. They had a blue 14 as well and I was torn between the two until they told me the blue had just been won in a hole in one contest and was not for sale.

Oh and the rear passenger rim on that blue 13 was so curb rashed I don't know how it held air and I am pretty sure it had turbo/super or some weird shit on it before it was traded as the whole top of the engine was filthy except for the pristine looking stock cover! You made the right call on which one to get.

You guys will hate me for my experience lol

A little over a year ago, I went to the local Toyota dealer and saw a mint very lightly used 6-speed 13' whiteout FRS. Less than 5k miles. On "sale" from an MSRP of $27991 to a sale price of $26,991.

I went in for a test drive, said to the sales lady hey, I'm a manager over at the Dodge dealer. She said ok. Told me $26.9k was the best she could do. I left

Came in the next day, to their used car manager. Said hey buddy, wholesale this car to me. You're showing an age of 50+ days on it. He said "thank god, yea, you can have it. Got a customer on it?"
"Yea, me."

Had them wholesale it to my dealership for $22.5k. Got $2k over book for my 135i too (traded it in my own dealership). Paid my mechanic $100 to go over everything and drove it home that day.

I believe in stockbroker terms this is referred to as "insider trading".

I had a pretty good (but hectic and high paced) time last week. I finally got my work done, graduate thesis done, etc so I had time. And I realized it was suddenly the end of the year, so dealers must be feeling a bit more hasty than usual to make a sale right?

So I started with online quotes, dealership sites, cars.com, truecar.com, etc. Got a starting price of 26.8k for a 2015 BRZ Limited and then started calling dealers from there. Ended up talking to three dealers and had them each beating the other's offers.

The next day, I walked into a dealership and put a deposit down for 28.5k out the door, including taxes, dealer fees, DMV fees, etc. The breakdown of the price had the car itself at 25.7k

I did not have similar luck with Scion dealers however... It seems like the FR-S is a lot more in demand, this combined with Scion's true price thing made negotiating any price hard.

I should try this with a used Monogram Series I'm looking to buy. It's near 7,000 miles and they're trying to sell it for $23k as their sale price. Doesn't hurt to find out.

ive bought my 3 cars (including my current FRS) from Manhattan Beach Toyota. each time i was out of there with my new car in about an hour from start to finish. for the FRS purchase, the salesguy even told me that i probably know more about the car than he does so we went straight for a test drive instead. awesome dealership and awesome parts dept people (for buying oil filters and other small maintenance stuff). i even got my front/rear Toyota badges and key cover from them
