Royal Purple, the version with Synerlec, polishes the bearings in an astounding manner and gives them a mirror finish.
The thick people can use this product, for example HPS 5W20 ( a bluesubie fav), take apart their engine, and stare at their own reflection.

Hi bluesubie, hope all is well.

Are any of the bearing issues mechanical or design caused?
BTW, I did try to recommend Red Line Racing 20W, with it's shear stability and high zinc content, for 86 track usage.

OK I am in love with Motul 5W40.

If I get a new Forester, I will need to draw on your experience with antique Boxers.

Cheers.

Thinking about doing an oil change at 2500 miles. It's still on the very first oil from the factory.

Should I go ahead and change that now or wait until maybe 3500 miles?

Should I go Royal Purple or Eneos Sustina? Debating between those two oil brands as they seem to be the best.

Guys would you consider Redline 5w30 to be suitable on a car with Sprintex 210 kit...or would that be too thick?

Car will not see track/race duties. Approaching summer in Australia now..where daytime temps can rise to around 110F.

When it comes to Red Line, you're probably fine running the 0W-20. RL has a high HTHS, and high kinematic viscosity at 100C, so it will behave like the next thicker viscosity oil. Dezoris has a few good uoa's on the 0W-20 in a supercharged/tracked application.

Actually, you probably don't need the 0W in your summer temps. Probably just go with the 5W-20.

I have used Motul 300V in my cars for the past 10 years. I will try 5w30 next summer as I went for Toyota OEM 5w30 oil now during this winter.

Whats everyone's thoughts of using delvac in these motors and Subarus in general
The UOAs I've seen are ok
But heaps better options out there tbh

Anyone care to chime in with factual evidence like UOAs or the like

Not just my tuner reccomends it
Or everyone says to use it so I do crap
