That's not really the vin. It's some sort of inventory number used by the dealership and/or region (I think). The actual vin will be mounted on the dash visible from outside the windshield driver side. Also, located in the inside driver door jam. And various other places under the hood and/or trunk.

Well that's lame.... The dealer gave me a whole vin n that was the last 8 car hasn't been built yet.. Maybe it's a preproduction number

11003 Asphalt AT which I get next week. So if they are only making 10k of them this year, either they are making more than that or the last 5 digits aren't sequtial to when the vehicle came off the line. Figuratively speaking of course.
