Having driven fwd cars my whole life I got sick of them so I decided to go with something rwd. After some researching and test driving, the RX8 was a close second, it was just as fun to drive as the FRS and it was slightly more practical. In the end I chose the FRS because of the styling, reliability, and lower cost of ownership. The RX8 eats up gas and oil.

I was looking at a Fiesta ST. Still not sure I made the right choice, but it's a lot of fun finding out

Before pulling the trigger on the BRZ, I also considered a used S2000, used Evo, and a used Audi.

This post is interesting because it brings up a question I hadn't really thought about much. "Who was looking for a new car and decided this was the car for them?" vs "Who bought a new car because this car came out?"

I was heavily considering a Focus ST, test drove one with my friend while he was shopping and loved it, he ended up getting a new GTI though, and is now wishing he got a Golf R lol..
^After I bought my FRS a buddy went to the same dealership and got one of the new TC's. Test drove that too, and I wouldn't mind owning one either to be honest |

This, minus the Audi, plus a used STi. Most seriously I considered an S2000.

I looked into the Ford Fiesta ST, and a WRX(pre 2015 and 2015). But I really wanted a RWD coupe as my next car and this was the most interesting vehicle I had seen in many years. The Fiesta ST is a pretty sweet little hatch but I didn't get to drive it since the local ford dealer wanted to keep the mileage low. I held out just long enough to see what the new WRX would be like and it still doesn't do it for me. I like the current gen WRX better than the new. When I drove an FR-S I was really amazed at the steering and handling, it was way better than anything I've ever touched thus far.

For me it came down to the challenger, camaro, and another classic car to use as a DD. But in the end I chose the brz.
