And like I said, I really hope no one else has these issues and feels the same way. I'm truly happy to hear that everyone is loving it. However, I do not have the same fortunes.

I'll admit, my dealer SUCKS at rattles (and customer service)... I gave up and fixed the majority of them on my own. They'll do my warranty work and my free oil change they owe me, but I'll probably just be switching service departments from here on out.

I don't even trust them on the oil change, the amount of striped drain plugs that have happened in my family makes me nervous...

Agreed that the thing isn't living up to the advertising though. Most people thought they'd be getting a bulletproof drivetrain with the only requirement for consistent track duty being brake pads. To be fair this isn't far off from the truth, once the injector issues get sorted out (which it appears that it has, 01/13 builds confirming the 'new' calibration) and the couple bad trannies get replaced the only pervasive issue is the crickets. ONly time will tell if other deficiencies exist. Until then...

Edit: searched and couldn't find any axle failure threads, I'm going to assume they don't exist until someone proves me otherwise.
Its happened to a few people. I know off the top of my head there is one case in the norcal off topic thread. Not gonna search through that monster for the post though. Its mainly stx cars with wide sticky tires launcching breaking them.

Which is why it pisses me off more that I have 8,000 miles and never tracked it.

Y'all need to find better dealerships. I drive an hour+ out of my way for service, but if I have any issues, they fix them no questions asked and they've never caused any damage to the car.

I think it's hard to say if OP is justified here, because we don't know how he drives and how his modifications have affected the car. Blaming the dealership is easy, but since the car is visibly modified, Scion Corporate would make them pay if they replaced parts that they shouldn't have.

This car is by far one of the cheapest RWD sports cars ever made. Compare it to the s2000 which was $40k, the rx7 which was around $50k, and even the AE86, the everyman's underdog, was somewhere in the mid $30,000s when you calculate inflation. Putting out a rwd sports car for $25k is ridiculous, and unfortunately there will have to be corners cut. While I think this car is amazing given the budget constraints, people should still be aware that they are not buying something made with the same budget of other Japanese sports cars.

Next, call the corporate Scion number and calmly and succinctly run through the bullet list with them. Tell them that this experience has made you look at Scion and Toyota in a very negative light. Then allow them to make it good.

Good luck to you!
Best advice in the whole damn thread. Understand the frustration as i have very not had great experiance with dealerships.

Sucks that you're having problems. Hopefully Scion corporate can help you out a bit and get you back to enjoying the vehicle, if that's at all possible.

I'd buy the car off of you, but since there are issues the most I could give you is like fifteen bucks.
