Yeah. I checked. Not able to find anything stating there is a cooling off period for Cars in California. Everything I'm reading says there isnt one. Care to cite your source, since you're 100%?

Ok... not 100% LOL. I just talked and confirmed with my buddy who is sales manager at Toyota/Scion in Daly City (which they have 2 in stock BTW, Black and white, black has 4k mark up with leather interior though). He said if he has the car already, he's screwed, no returns. But if he doesn't (in this case he doesn't) he simply just doesn't have to pick it up. He can go in (or just call), and say, "I want to cancel the deal." and he will get his down payment back and the contract can be cancelled. If they said he can't, it's BS. He doesn't have the car, nor has driven it or anything.

That I agree with. It's just a matter of how hard the Dealership wants to try to hold on to that contract. The BBB might be interested...

Contract isn't complete until you take possession.

Its relief hearing those words, Well to start off I have yet to receive the car and I'm planning to meet with the manager and ask to rewrite the deal and I'm also going to show them the all the proof of others being able to receive better deal , if all things don't turn out the way they are supposed. To then no FRS... I'm still trying to see if I can get more people to see if they are willing to send me a copy of their contract for proof and reference.... so if anyone is still willing to help me out, please do so. Please and thank you for your time.

To be honest with you, having someone else's contract won't do anything for you unless the manager just decides to be nice. As long as the dealership clearly added the 3k markup in their ads, website, etc., they abide by Scion's pure pricing policy and can legitimately charge you for it. On that note, see if you can find the car on their website, etc. to see if it WAS added. If no markup was added, you can bring it to Scion corporate immediately.

Otherwise, I don't see the dealership having any incentive to slash that 3k for you. You're clearly playing into the mark up because you want the car NOW and don't want to wait any longer, which is the whole basis of the demand mark up in the first place. You can try to argue about what other dealerships are offering, but at the end of the day, they set the prices at their own site. The dealership will most likely just as easily turn you away at that point and find another buyer in a day or two. Like others say, live and learn, and either pay the 3k or cancel the contract and be patient until you can find one for actual MSRP.

Dont know if i can help since im in NJ but i got my car for 27k including taxes. If they dont budge then i would just walk away since you have yet to take possession of the car and look somewhere else. Dont rush into this and spend more money then needed.

I understand what your saying, I just hope the manager will give in and give me the benefit of doubt.... I lived and learned and not going to do this again for sure....
