I second that.. if I end up ordering the Eibachs it will be the R1s for me.. i feel that the R2s are too adjustable for the streets lol

Factory coilover spring rates:

Tein SRC: 11/12kg
Eibach R2: 4.9/6kg

I feel like the SRC has an advantage if we're talking about a stock coilover setup.

out of the box I think the SRC will have the advantage, but you're paying quite a bit more for them. I'm down to run at the next FT86 Cup event against any of the R2 guys

@Jackson, I read some reviews that each R2 damper gets dyno tested before they're shipped. Can you verify this?
Yes, every damper is dyno tested before being boxed and shipped. I'm currently working with the engineers to print out each dyno sheet with matching serial numbers to include with each kit.

As for the KW v3 vs. Tein SRC vs. Eibach R2...I'm down to help out anyway we can.

I kinda like somewhere in the middle and run 6k/7.7k on my GC/koni race setup, and they are red eibach coils, so I wonder how that would feel on your r2's...

heck If where was a way for me to make it out we could have back to back r2 vs src vs GC-race vs who knows, sounds like a mini 86 Tech festival in the making tho...

Spring rates is just a surface level indicator of what the suspension can do. Valving is where the magic lies.

I thought the src normally came without springs? Regardless I assumed spring rates would be equal so you could truly compare just the stock damper itself. ie make everything else equal.

The SRC do not come with springs, but everyone needs springs to put them on, so there's a default

The default happens to be 10k/12k, but the dampers will support much softer and/or stiffer springs. Anywhere from 8k to 14k.

Mid March is when the product will be on the shelves correct? (assuming these are not built to order)

lol obviously everyone will need springs

My point was the rates should be equal for any test if we really want to isolate the comparison solely to the damper itself. Let the same user setup both to their preferences.

How can you quantify the quality of valving? Shock dynos?
